Turmeric lattes have been popping up at trendy cafes everywhere and with good reason. This delicious warming drink has some serious health benefits due to its very high anti-inflammatory potency.
Turmeric contains an active component called curcumin, and this compound alone is the subject of almost 6,000 peer-reviewed and published studies. Some of the health benefits found include supporting liver health, reducing the incidence of depression and Alzheimer’s, reducing pain in arthritis and lowering heart disease risk factors due to the potent antioxidant content. This recipe includes coconut oil and black pepper, which has been shown to increase bioavailability of curcumin.
Note: You can use a coffee machine frother or high-speed blender to get more of a frothy latte.
