How did you learn about a Guided Reboot?
I watched the movie “Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead” 2 years ago. I did four to five 10-day juice only Reboot plans on my own, but every time I would finish and go back to normal eating. Every time I’d gain back the 3-4 kg (6-8 pounds) I lost. I started looking around for what I’m probably doing wrong and I found the Rebootwithjoe.com website. I subscribed to the updates there and one day I got an email that there is a Guided Reboot especially for Thyroid which is what I have.
What inspired you to sign up for a Guided Reboot?
The idea that there will be a certified nutritionist to answer my questions and to explain the entire process is very comforting. The experience of the community that is created with other people going through the same Reboot as I am is very helpful – I was not alone and the others knew exactly what I’m going through!
How did the experience go for you?
Everyone has its ups and downs. Thanks to Claire (our nutritionist) I had answers to every question that popped up in my head. I felt confident that I’m doing the right thing and that I’ll not make the mistakes I did before by going back to my old self again! It is scary to think that for the next 2 months there will be only juicing. With the help of Claire and the others in the group that was easy! I loved the transition period vegetable meals, the 30 days just juice were so easy – shopping list, follow the recipe, get surprised how good every juice taste, never get bored of the same juice.
Did you have any notable health or physical improvements (weight loss, lower cholesterol, etc.)?
After the first 10 days I had so much energy! I no longer felt that I want to spend the evening on the couch watching movie but instead I was catching up with my house work and getting ready for the next day. I started sleeping through the night and that made my day go smoothly with less stress at work! Those two were huge improvements for me! I lost weight and that came as bonus :).
What was the toughest part about the Guided Reboot experience?
Fitting all the produce into the fridge, cooking for my kids and husband while I’m juicing, and feeling cold. At times I felt insecure about making it but then the help from the group came! I’m thankful for it!
What habits have you maintained and kept a part of your everyday life?
I have not eaten any dairy, sugar or gluten foods for the past 2 months! I plan to keep eating that way. I have a lot of recipes from the Guided Reboot Program I can follow – that gives me the confidence to easily do that. A juice is now part of my family’s daily meal!
What is your lasting impression of the Guided Reboot experience?
I like it! I’m happy I did it! I’m thankful for all the help I received and I’m still enjoying the compliments from the people around me on how great I look! The most important part is that I’m proud of myself I did it and I am not going back to my old ways again – I have the tools to control that!
