Archaegeo, 46, Reboots to Lose Weight and Gain Energy for His Newborn Daughter

Name:  Archaegeo
Age: 46
Location: New Jersey
Reboot: 63 days

How did you learn about Reboot with Joe?
I was following a workout program and was tired of trying to do things while carrying all the extra weight. I knew I could dump some weight fast with something like Atkins or Nutrisystem, but I just happened to stumble across Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead and read the website and the success stories. I actually started juicing and didn’t see the movie till I was 4 days into it.

What inspired you to do a Reboot?
My daughter was born in January, and it just didn’t seem fair to have her grow up with a Dad who was too fat to do things with her or chase her around the yard.

Also, while my wife had us eating pretty healthy, I was eating way too much of the things we ate. Add to that 4-8 cups of coffee a day and my life was a wreck physically.

How did the experience go for you?
It was an incredible experience. Day one was nothing really, but days 2-4 were horrible. I took two Advil a day on days 2 and 3 for the caffeine headaches and then 1 on day 4. I also was taking an afternoon nap those days, just really low energy.

But then things started to turn around, and it has been an incredible experience that I would not trade for anything, I knew exactly what I was eating, and I had the energy I needed for my workouts as well.

Along the way I added in some vegan friendly B-12, some vitamin D, and some powdered Brazil nuts for Selenium. At the last few weeks I added a daily teaspoon of fish oil for HDL reasons, but the rest of my cholesterol work up was astounding numbers.

How much weight did you lose (even if that wasn’t your goal!)?
I lost 38.2 lbs/17.3 kg. Here are my full results:

Weight start: 241.2 / Today 203.0 – 38.2 lb down

Body Fat Start: 30.8% (74.3 lb fat / 166.9 lean muscle mass)
Body Fat Today: 20.7% (42.0 lb fat / 161 lean muscle mass)
BMI Start/Finish: 32.71 / 27.53

So after 10 weeks I lost 10.1% body fat, 38.2 lbs of weight and 5.18 off of BMI. And of that 5.9 lb from muscle and 32.3 from fat. That puts me at 15% from muscle, 85% from fat.

All measurements: (221.5” total start /198.25” today, so a loss of 23.25 inches from my body)

Did you have any notable health or physical improvements?
I sleep through the night. I no longer snore (which might be my wife’s favorite part). I go to sleep early and go to sleep right away and wake up refreshed. My feet no longer make my shoes stink if I don’t wear socks. My skin tone is great and my posture has drastically improved

What was the toughest part about the Reboot experience?
Days 2-4 without a doubt were the toughest. They were a trial that break the will of many people. I feel sorry for those who don’t make it to the other side. They don’t know what they are missing.

What habits have you maintained and kept a part of your everyday life?
I think about everything I eat now. Even if it’s something that is more of a treat (raw cashew butter on celery or a raw chocolate mousse pie piece as a reward) I want to know what is in it and I make sure I deserve it.

Vegetables and fruits are the major portion of my diet, with occasional meat as more of a garnish or enhancement.

What is your lasting impression of the Reboot experience?
I wish I could convince others to try it, even if just for the time it takes to go through that tunnel and shed the addictions to coffee, sugars, and empty calories.

I plan to do a 10 day every 90 days or so.
