Heather Loses 162 Lbs. Rebooting and Can Now Easily Bend Over to Put Her Socks On

Name:  Heather
Age: 37
Location: New England
Reboot:  132 days
What Health Issues apply to you? High Blood Pressure, Obesity, PMS

How did you learn about Reboot with Joe?
After watching his movie I typed in Joe’s name and found this whole website with lots and lots of people all dealing with things I have had to deal with. From there I found a group on his website called Fabulous Fatties and the support I found on Joe’s support forums has been amazing.

What inspired you to do a Reboot?
We watched Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead finally after 6 months of it sitting in our que. My husband and I looked at each other and had a juicer five days later.

I did the Reboot for me, I was finally ready to take better care of myself. What can I say it all clicked… finally! My husband was a huge support system as was my mom.

How did the experience go for you?
I was shocked at how well it’s gone and still going. Not only did I get healthy but my husband is down 70 pounds and my mom 50! I knew after a life time of eating how I wanted, 60 plus days would be easy.

I had moments but I got past them and the longer I juiced, the better I felt, and watching the results was incredibly empowering and exciting!

How much weight did you lose (even if that wasn’t your goal!)?
162 pounds/73 kg.!

Did you have any notable health or physical improvements?
I don’t wake up coughing at night anymore. I can jump, run and jog! My skin glows, my eyes are clear, and my hair is softer. I can actually fold myself in half! I have energy coming out of my ears! My husband and I fit much better on our queen size bed! I don’t ache like I used to. I feel fantastic! I can bend over with my seat belt on and pick something up off the floor! I can cross my legs! I can put my foot on my knee to put my socks on!

What was the toughest part about the Reboot experience?
I had to get to know myself all over again. I am an emotional and bored eater and not being able to do that was incredibly hard. I had to deal with my thoughts rather than bury them in food. I had to find things to enjoy in life and not have it all revolve around food.

I was also cold during my Reboot…a common side effect. I found herbal tea helped a lot or hot broth made from the bits left over after from juicing.

What habits have you maintained and kept a part of your everyday life?
I still enjoy a juice every day. I started exercising a week into my Reboot and have every day since. I only take one day off per week. If I find the need to refocus myself I switch to two juices a day and one vegetarian meal. I don’t eat meat like I used to and when I do it’s mainly chicken or fish. I have learned what my trigger foods are. No carbs of any sort!

I also pay attention to food labels now. Nothing artificial anymore. If I can’t pronounce it, I don’t eat it.

When I stay away from those I do really well.

I’ve also learned how to not pay attention to others that don’t understand what I am doing, I share what I have learned and many are surprised at how much nutrition you actually get while juicing.

What is your lasting impression of the Reboot experience?
It is a lifestyle change and it truly has changed my life as well as my husband’s and family.

It makes me feel so good every time I drink my green juice I feel like I am healing and energizing my body and mind.

I think of Phil from the movie and I remember being so amazed at how much smaller he was at end of movie. I even thought, “Hmm I wonder if it’s actually true!?” Now when I look at myself in the mirror, I know it is!
