HOW DID YOU LEARN ABOUT REBOOT YOUR LIFE?
Netflix suggested Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead to me, after I watched “Food Matters.” I watched it immediately and decided to try a Reboot for myself.
WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO DO A REBOOT?
Siong, the woman in the documentary, mentioned that she “wasn’t going for skinny,” she was “going for healthy.” I was already at my goal weight when I saw the documentary but I knew I wasn’t as healthy as I could be. And I suffered migraines and was sick all of the time. I had a cold or flu or bronchitis every 3-4 months. This was officially the first winter season of my life that I made it through with no illness of any kind. Not one day went by that I did not juice.
HOW DID THE EXPERIENCE GO FOR YOU?
My Reboot was an amazing experience. The first few days were rough, as Joe promised they would be, but afterward, it seemed the clouds parted and the sun shone upon me like never before. I felt a new lust for life, and I caught myself smiling, dancing and singing often. I have always been a rather negative person, and have suffered several, clinical depression and panic attacks for which I was taking strong medications. My Reboot made me realize that my body badly needed this detox, and that I had been starving myself of real nutrients. I was already on the road to good health when I heard about Rebooting, but nothing has ever made me feel like this. The experience truly changed my LIFE. I thought I felt good before the Reboot. I didn’t know how good I could actually feel.
DID YOU HAVE ANY NOTABLE HEALTH OR PHYSICAL IMPROVEMENTS?
In addition to my quick stats above, I no longer need sleep medication for restless nights. Panic attacks are a thing of the past. I wake up in the morning with no grogginess and with my eyes clear and bright. My depression is gone. My hair and nails grow stronger and longer and I have no more dry skin. I have more stamina for working out and running, a stronger libido and constant good moods, which makes for a happier marriage.
WHAT WAS THE TOUGHEST PART ABOUT THE REBOOT EXPERIENCE?
The first few days of the detox were rough, due to a foggy feeling, a bit of dizziness and horrible headaches. The cravings were pretty strong at first, too. However, after powering through those first few days, I felt incredible. It was all worth it and I now Reboot every 3 months for 5-10 days.
WHAT HABITS HAVE YOU MAINTAINED AND KEPT AS PART OF YOUR EVERYDAY LIFE?
I juice every single day. I can’t go a day without a Mean Green or similar cleansing cocktail. I exercise more often and actually enjoy it. I also spread the word every day, via my “Raw Rebecca” Facebook page and blog, www.Raw-Rebecca.com. I want to help people realize they too can get healthy and feel as good as I do. Lastly, I have maintained my weight loss, something I have never been able to do in the past. Before Rebooting in October 2011, I started eating clean and mostly plant-based while watching portion sizes and I lost 40 pounds. Since my Reboot, I have been inspired to STAY healthy and actually maintain my weight. I went 100% plant-based after my first Reboot and now I eat mostly Raw foods. I stay satisfied longer and I don’t need to count calories or points to keep my weight off. It all just happens naturally. I used to be addicted to McDonalds, doughnuts, candy, fried foods, soda pop, and pretty much anything bad for me. I now crave micronutrient foods and cannot imagine eating that way ever again.
WHAT IS YOUR LASTING IMPRESSION OF THE REBOOT EXPERIENCE?
It changed my life. And honestly, it saved my life – my depression got pretty bad at times. I am a transformed person, inside and out. It was, by far, the best thing I have ever done for myself. It’s easy, it’s fun, and it’s life-changing. Best experience EVER.
