Infused Water

Hydration is a key component of digestive health and can help relieve bloating or an afternoon energy slump. If you struggle to drink enough water, try this recipe to add a little more flavor to your water. You can also add infused water to a juice to help dilute it. While there’s a boom of infused waters now on the market, you can easily make your own at home by adding a combo of fresh fruit, vegetables or herbs. This recipe works well with still or sparkling water.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup strawberries, stemmed and thinly sliced
  • 1 small cucumber, thinly sliced
  • 1 lemon, thinly sliced
  • 2 quarts of water

Directions

  1. Add strawberries, cucumber and lemon to a pitcher.
  2. For still water, add 2 quarts of water. For sparkling, add 1 quart of seltzer or sparkling water for prep and then another quart just before serving.
  3. Let sit for up to 4 hours to allow the ingredients to infuse the water.
  4. Strain the water and add lemon as a garnish or keep the fruit and veggies in the water and serve in your favorite glasses or jars.

Tip: The (strained) infused water will keep refrigerated for up to 2 days.
