All of us at Team Reboot are currently on a 7 Day Juice Only Reboot, so most of the recipes this week will be juices! We’d typically share a smoothie recipe today, but smoothies and juices have different properties so we’d hate to be tempted to drink it if we made one! Instead I’m sharing an ‘Oh Sweet Broccoli’ Juice!
Broccoli is high in vitamin C, K, A, folate, and Manganese. There are approximately 300 studies on the health benefits of broccoli; some benefits include the reduction in certain cancers, anti-allergy and reducing cholesterol levels. Broccoli also supplies potent detoxification benefits due to the specialized phytonutrients. Broccoli is rich in substances called isothiocyanates, chemicals shown to stimulate the body’s production of its own cancer fighting substances. These enzymes, in turn, neutralize potential cancer causing substances before they have a chance to damage the DNA of healthy cells. SO DRINK UP OR EAT UP!
- 1/2 – 1 head of broccoli (florets and stalks)
- 2 oranges
- 1 cucumber
- 1 carrot
- Wash all produce well.
- Peel the oranges.
- Add all ingredients through juicer and enjoy!
- Broccoli – green cabbage, kale, spinach, Swiss chard (silverbeet)
- Orange – lemon, lime, mandarin, grapefruit
- Cucumber – zucchini, celery
- Carrot – sweet potato, winter squash, parsnip
