5-Minute Gourmet Pear & Walnut Salad

There’s nothing better than a simple and delicious salad, and this is one of my very favorites. The walnuts and pears in this salad add digestion-healthy fiber, and healthful nutrients including cancer-protective quercetin in the pear skin and heart-healthy, anti-inflammatory plant-based omega 3 fatty acids. So it’s not only delicious, takes five minute to make, and contains five ingredients, but it’s full of nutrients! Enjoy this salad alone or add your preferred lean protein for a larger meal.



  • 1 head of green leaf lettuce, washed
  • ¼ cup (30 g) raw walnuts
  • 1 pear, cored and chopped
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • sea salt and pepper, to taste


  • 1 lemon, juice only
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • sea salt and pepper, to taste
  • ½ tsp each dried basil and oregano (optional)




  1. Wash lettuce and pear well, then chop and prepare and place into a salad bowl.
  2. Add walnuts, sesame seeds, salt and pepper to the salad.
  3. In another small bowl, mix together salad dressing ingredients and whisk together until well mixed.
  4. Pour salad dressing over salad and toss the salad together with tongs or salad utensils.
  5. Serve and enjoy!
