Summer Green Juice – Recipe of the Week

Here is a fresh twist on some of our classic green juices. Zucchini lends a light flavor with lots of liquid, while the pears add just a touch of sweetness.
Zucchini is a good source of B vitamins, potassium, fiber and offers some Vitamin C and iron. This green veggie is also low in sugar and carbohydrates.
Ingredients:
- 2 small green pears
- 1 cup kale
- 1 cup spinach
- ½ cucumber
- 1 zucchini
- 1/4 lemon (peel removed)
- 1” piece of ginger (optional)
Directions:
- Wash all produce well
- Leave the lemon rind on if you like a zesty flavor
- Juice
- Pour over ice
Enjoy!
Makes 1 16oz. serving

i have added zucchini to my green before – it really has a lot of juice in it – with a very mild flavor
I am very anxious to get started…to lose weight and to feel better and to get healthy!
I Have a question, I have been juicing or should I say blending. I use all these ingredients listed but I always blend it in my vitamix and drink. Is this ok, or is juicing better?

What about pregnancy and juicing? I just want to up my micronutrient uptake for junior. Do I just add juice in addition to my regular diet?
Hi Serena, we don’t advise a full reboot for anyone who is pregnant because neither you or your baby would receive all the important nutrients you need during this critical time of development. But, adding fresh juice once a day to a healthy, well balanced diet is a great idea for good health for both baby and mom!
