Simple Eating Guidelines

We’ve got some simple guidelines to consider for a healthier, happier life full of fruits and vegetables
1. Avoid processed “junk” foods.
The longer you can limit them in your diet, the better you will feel. Seriously – no one ever died from stuffed-crust pizza withdrawal.
2. Choose as many local, seasonal, organic foods as possible.
Soups, smoothies and salads are easy, fun meal choices that help you integrate more fruits and vegetables into your diet.
3. Eat smaller amounts more often.
Eating just enough to nourish yourself without going beyond what is comfortable is at the heart of being kind to your body.
What counts as a serving for fruits & veggies?
- 1 cup leafy greens, berries or melon chunks
- 1/2 cup cut or cooked fruits and vegetables (broccoli, carrots, pineapple…)
- 1 medium piece of fruit or vegetable (apple, plum, peach, orange)
- 6 ounces natural, fresh 100% fruit/vegetable juice
- 1/4 cup dried fruit (sulfur free)
4. Consider how you prepare your food so you get the most nutrients out of it.
Ditch the deep fryer and instead, bake, broil, grill, roast, and steam your food.
5. Eat a rainbow every day.
Essentially the properties that give each fruit or veggie its rich color are the same elements that help protect our immune systems. Each color family is rich in important micronutrients. The American Cancer Society recommends choosing at least one representative from each color family per day.
6. Think about protein in a new way.
The typical American plate is 50% animal protein, 25% overcooked vegetable and 25% starch like white potatoes. Health advocates recommend recreating your plate by shifting to 50% plant foods like vegetables or some fruit, 25% lean protein and 25% whole grain.

hello stacy:) started my 3 day reboot yesterday(june30).i got bad headache yesterday but i think i manage it well.my question is,on the 3 day plan that im following is it ok if i skip the mid time juice?like since yesterday i only follow the morning lunch and dinner juicing?
Hi Maria74 – day 3 is common for headaches but skipping juices or not drinking enough water can contribute to feeling off, lethargic and headaches. We suggest 4-6 juices per day at 16-20 oz or 500-600mL each. At least 64 oz of water but likely more. If you came off caffeine quickly the headache can be a result and drinking some coconut water for electrolytes may help your head too. Keep us posted!
hello stacy i would like to receive more info ..i want to start the soon as posible..i want to know if theres is somo list of the things that i need to buy or the juices that i need to take everyday please help me.. i wanna be new person,,so instead of all people call me fat i want they call me by my name..thanks..
Hey, Mary! It’s too bad that you’re experiencing social pressures. Many people like you and me do (and I’m speaking from experience!). If you just look around on this website there will be enough info for you to start out! Here (http://www.jointhereboot.com/plans/) is where you can choose which length of the diet you want to do. Here (http://www.jointhereboot.com/getting-ready-for-your-reboot/) is where you see what to do to prepare for it. Here (http://www.jointhereboot.com/category/recipes/) is where you get your recipes! This in itself should be enough info for you.
Hi Mary Carmen – welcome! Here are some places to help you get started – let me know if you have any questions

http://www.jointhereboot.com/plans/
information has just come out saying caffeine is a “good thing” why is it not allowed?
Hi jellomom – you are correct that for long term health, small amounts of caffeine are OK to include for many people. During a reboot specificially we suggest avoiding this – here is why http://www.jointhereboot.com/why-is-caffeine-a-no-no-during-the-reboot/
Let me know if youy have any questions.
It has been 48 hours since I watched Joe’s movie and I remain stunned. Not by the results, but by the track I am currently on where there will be no chance to reboot.
I want to do this, but I am scared as Hell. I have failed so many times before.
Hi Stacey, my daughter and I watched the movie and we went out today and bought some veggies to juice. We got items for the mean grean, carrot/apple/ginger, and gazpacho. I was looking for the 10 days juice fast plan that they all started out on in the movie, but could not find that plan here on the website. I found the 3 day juicing plan, and a 10 day plan where you eat and juice. We would really like to use the 10 day juicing plan that they started with. I must just be missing something. WHere can I find that? Thanks in advance for your help! We are so excited to get started.
Hi Robin, that’s wonderful you and your daughter enjoyed the film and are ready to start juicing! Here is more information about creating a 10 day juice only plan. Let me know if you have any questions.
http://www.jointhereboot.com/want-to-do-a-juice-only-reboot/
Stacy, my husband and I just watched the video on Monday night. We are going to transition into the reboot as recommended, but I’m confused on the serving size of say, a Mean Green, for example. My husband made each of us a “batch” based on the recipe given online. Is that truly one serving…or is it several? I’m looking above at the sample serving sizes and it’s lower than what this juice consisted of.
Hi Marilyn, great question! Generally the juices make 16-20 oz which is 1 serving. Depending on your juicer and actual size of produce used you may get more or less. If you get more save the rest for later or share with your hubby
Drink the amount that feels right but no less then 64 oz of juice a day and many people need more (4-6, 16-20 oz each). Enjoy!
How do you do the 60 day juice fast like Joe?
I just read the last comment 0n 4-6 16-20 servings/day, I made my 1st batch this morning and it produced 4 cups of the mean green juice, I drank 8 ounces at breakfast, 8 oz at lunch had a small headache and some hunger cravings around 2:30 pm, I am going to finish off the rest for dinner, so i need more juice than that per day?
Yes, you will feel better with increasing your juice and water intake. Glad you like the mean green! Enjoy!
Stacy, i had a week without any work related travel and am on day 7 of a 10 day reboot. my question is once I start traveling again next week what is the best way to keep going? i was thinking about buying the fresh fruit drinks for Breakfast and lunch and then having a salad with chicken or salmon for dinner. Any suggestions?
Hi Dick, congrats on completing the first week of your reboot! Your idea sounds good – like our Juice Until Dinner plan – check that out for more ideas. Here are hints for making juice and bringing it with you on the road when you can http://www.jointhereboot.com/june-group-reboot-day-2-juicing-on-the-go/
If you need to buy a packaged juice in a pinch – look for fresh first, then one using HPP or another non heated method, like Joe’s juices in Australia, or one with the least amount of sugar, salt and most veggies. Enjoy!
Hi Stacy, how does one get enuf fiber during a juice fast?
Hi Kazdad2003, the soluble fiber in fruits and vegetables persists into the juice – the juicer removes the insoluble fiber. While fiber is an important part of the overall diet, during a defined and short period of time, the removal of these insoluble fibers may be healthy as it can help to give the gut a bit of a rest and make the absorption of certain nutrients easier and more efficient.
Hi Stacy – Do the fruits and veggies have to be organic? Is it true the others are grown is soils depleted of their nutrients?
Hi bobstocking – not all your fruits and veggies need to be organic – look for local as often as possible and follow the dirty dozen list for the items you really want to try hard to get organic. For things you peel like citrus, cantaloupe you don’t need organic but if you leave the rind on lemons for example then organic would be important. Here is more info
http://www.jointhereboot.com/choosing-organic/
http://www.jointhereboot.com/why-go-local/
Stacy, thanks so much for answering my fiber question! I also wondered if there is any per serving nutritional info available for the mean green juice (number calories, protein, etc)? thanks.
Hi Mary Carmen! Got a quick question for you. I already have a Vitamix in my kitchen. Is it ok to use the vitamixer to make smoothies instead of going out and purchasing a juicer? I figure that with the vitamix i will still be able to get the nutrients located in the skins of the fruits as well as the fiber. Thoughts??
Hi devildogrn, here is an article about blending vs juicing – both can be super healthy. Enjoy!
http://www.jointhereboot.com/the-great-debate-juicing-vs-smoothies/
[...] a few days to adjust. Tip 19: Once you’ve gone past 3 days after the Reboot, best to follow our Simple Eating Guidelines and work out where you want your % of plant food to be. I try to do 40/50%. I’m not perfect, but [...]
Hi Stacy,
Are lentils OK to eat during the 15 day reboot?
Hi Sam, lentils are super healthy but not part of a traditional reboot. However, many people have chosen to do a modified reboot that includes other plant foods for more protein, fiber or other reasons. So, this is fine to do if you want to modify your plan but for a 100% reboot save the lentils for after the 15 days.
would this diet be safe while breastfeeding? If so any specific guidelines?
Hi Emmie, we do not advise a full reboot while breastfeeding but rather including a fresh juice daily as part of a healthy plant based diet. Enjoy!
Hi Stacy, I have an autoimmune disorder that I am trying to cure by following Joe’s diet from the film. I am also breastfeeding and have epilepsy and concerned that juicing alone will not give me enough calories (my rheumatologist believes it will be fine and he gave me the OK to try the diet). I’ve been juicing for 1 week but also eating lots of nuts, a few beans and some cooked veggies and still no relief from the pain and inflammation. Should I cut out all other foods and strictly juice or could it be that I just need to give it more time? Thanks, Stephanie
Hi Stephanie, that is wonderful you are interested in using healthy diet to benefit your body and get rid of your autoimmune disorder – even better your doctor is on board! The caution I have against a full reboot right now is because you are nursing. I think your method of having fresh juice and still eating healthy plant foods like nuts, beans and cooked veggies is best because of breastfeeding. Be sure to drink plenty of water and do give it more time, and when you are not nursing trying a period of just juice may offer more relief. Ginger, spicy peppers, citrus, tumeric, pineapple, kale all have potent anti inflammatory compounds (as do all fruits and veggies but these have a few specific gems). Check out our juice and food recipes with these superstar ingredients. Best to you and keep us posted!
Thanks so much Stacy! Are you concerned about people not getting B12 from eliminating animal products? That wasn’t addressed in the movie but it’s something everyone asks me about.
Hi teague12, B12 may need to be supplemented when following a Vegan diet or extended reboot but it’s really a case by case situation. For a reboot less then 1 month it is often not a necessity unless you were taking it beforehand. There is a simple blood test you can ask your doctor for to find out if you do need a supplement and how much.
I started my reboot on july 1,2012 and Have lost 28lbs. so far! still going…
Congrats, Brian! That’s fantastic!
I’m on day 4 and enjoying this.
I’ve had no more headaches or stomach aches, and do have more energy. I can not wait to see what further changes are in the future.
I’m interested in trying this however want to know if safe enough for lactating Mother’s. Please advise.
Hi Joliene, we do not advise a full reboot while nursing however including fresh juice once a day as part of a healthy plant based diet is certainly encouraged.

Hi Stacy!
I did the 15 day Reboot and I am feeling fantastic! Now I have to incorporate one meal a day due to the cycling that I have been doing on my roadbike. I am now up to 35 miles per bike ride 3 days a week, and I run the 3 days a week about 3 miles each run.
I have lost a total of 14 lbs and I am no longer over the 200 lb weight. Is there anything else that I can do? my goal weight is 160 and I am at 193.
Hi Felicia, wow great job so far and happy to hear you are feeling well and becoming more active! Here are some tips about next steps and healthy meals going forward, while continuing to include juice as part of your day to day diet.

I’d love to do the 10 or 15-day plan, but I noticed avocados are in a lot of the foods. I’m highly allergic. Is there anything I can replace them with so I keep the nutrients I need? Thanks a million!
Hi Kathanne, for texture purposes banana is a nice sub for avocado unless you are allergic to this too. For similar nutrients try including coconut mylk (blend the coconut meat with the coconut water) as a source of healthy fat. Wishing you well on your reboot!
Thank you so much. That helps hugely!
Hi Stacy,
Do you considered puree’d juices in a vitamix okay for a reboot or should it just be straight juices?
Thanks.
disregard this ??. You answered it above.
Hi Stacy,
Disregard my previous question re: Vitamix. Someone else had the same question and you answered it. I have a few more questions that perhaps you can answer:
1. How long does the juice last? My wife and I have made a double batch of Mean Green (about 64 ounces). We typically drink it all over two days. I recently ordered air tight containers too. Is it okay to keep it for a few days? Thanks.
2. Will I be able to exercise on this or will I not be getting enough calories? I have done Bikram yoga recently and I believe I lose between 500-1000 calories in a 90 minute session.
3. Is adding Chia or Hemp seeds to juices okay? I have read that there are a number of benefits in both of those.
Thank you.
Todd
Hi Todd, juice can last up to 3 days in the fridge sealed tightly without air. Here is more about making your juice ahead of time. http://www.jointhereboot.com/june-group-reboot-day-2-juicing-on-the-go/
Yes you can exercise too but we suggest following these guidelines http://www.jointhereboot.com/fitness-facts-for-your-reboot/
http://www.jointhereboot.com/fruit-and-vegetables-for-improved-exercise-performance/
You can also add chia or hemp seeds to your juice – they do both contain important nutrients like omega-3s, protein and fiber. http://www.jointhereboot.com/protein-the-reboot-setting-the-record-straight/
Check out these articles and let me know if you have any ?s
Thank you, Stacy.
Hi Stacy, anxious to get started, trying to wrap my brain around it all (a plan) however, when I go to the page with the “plan” tab and try clicking on “view plan details” under any of the plans it doesn’t come up. Is the link not working? Download PDF is working, but not “details”. Thanks. Take Care
Hi Mariza, the details are all in the pdf so you should be all set with the info you need. Sometimes when you click details it comes up lower down on the page. If you continue to have trouble please email info@jointhereboot.com
Stacy, I can not fine the 30, 60 or 90 day juice only plan on this site?
Hi Martin, we do not have 30, 60, 90 day plans on the site. Here are hints for creating your own, extended juice only reboot. We suggest discussing this with your doctor first. http://www.jointhereboot.com/want-to-do-a-juice-only-reboot/
Enjoy!
Is there some special nutritional value to ginger? It’s in so many recipes and we really don’t care for it. I’ve been substituting lemon, but I wonder if I’m missing something great by foregoing the ginger.
Thanks.
Hi Nancy, ginger is super healthy! It has many anti inflammatory, anti nausea, digestive and immune supporting phytonutrients. A little bit goes a long way in juice so perhaps using just a small piece may be more palatable. But it’s certainly not a requirement using other foods like lemon or lime offer other health promoting benefits and is also a good choice.
hey stacy i have been juicing up for 5 days now with out eating.. and i was wondering if veggie soup is a choice for lunch to have a hot plate instead of juice.
Esteban!
Hi Esteban, that’s wonderful! Yes you can add in some soups for a warm treat in place of juice if you wish. Check out our yummy recipes like these http://www.jointhereboot.com/warm-up-with-juice-pulp-veggie-broth-recipe-of-the-week/
http://www.jointhereboot.com/green-detox-soup-recipe-of-the-week/
Enjoy!
At the start of day 6 I have already lost 26 lbs (365 to 339). I went 2.5 days on only fruit and vegetable juice. Since then I added solid vegetables, fruits, and nuts. Trying to keep nuts down to 1/5th of less of my intake. I have been mildly active, making sure to get my heart rate up at least once a day, and did so two or three times today. Should I be concerned about the extremely high weight loss? I eat or juice between 1-2 hour intervals and I don’t feel lethargic, and my overall body feels much much better that it normally does. Should I be concerned enough about the rapid weight loss to see a doctor, or should I make any changes to what I am eating?
Hi Ryan, wow!! Your weight loss should slow down as you continue. If you have any pre-exiting health conditions or take medications it is always a good idea to check in with your doc. Great job and keep us posted!
Stacy can you tell me the recipe that Phil, from the video, used?
Here you go! http://www.jointhereboot.com/mean-green-juice/
Hi Stacey my fiancee and i just watched the film. we are wanting to start the plan in the film it just showed juicing on the plans on the reboot site we see food and juice do we need food and juice or can we be ok with just juice? If we just juice how long is recommended?
i need to loose 80 pounds my fiancee needs to loose 250 pounds(he is at 600 pounds right now) at this point we both have no health problems..except .he has the beginnings of cellulitus recently and knee pains after falling this past winter. we go to the gym 5 days a week … water classes and some free weights. will the juicing alone be ok while working out?
Hi Mechelle, so glad you enjoyed the film and are inspired to start a reboot! we suggest easing into just juice with a few days of eating just veggies, fruits and drinking juice. Juice alone and exercise is also OK – here are some guidelines http://www.jointhereboot.com/fitness-facts-for-your-reboot/
http://www.jointhereboot.com/fruit-and-vegetables-for-improved-exercise-performance/
Wishing you both well – please let us know if you have any questions!
Hi Stacy, I’m concerned about going to the gym and working out for an hour and burning the over 650 calories I do while just juicing. Is it safe? I don’t want to stop exercising for fear of losing too much muscle mass but I don’t want to pass out at the gym, either.
Hi Jake, this is an excellent question – here are 2 articles that will be helpful in how to construct a reboot while continuing to exercise
http://www.jointhereboot.com/fitness-facts-for-your-reboot/
http://www.jointhereboot.com/fruit-and-vegetables-for-improved-exercise-performance/
Let me know if you have any questions.
Hi my husband and I are about to start rebooting after watching Joe Cross he is inspiring. How many smoothie did he drink a day, also was each time a whole jug . What other nuts did he drink during the 60 days?
Hi Peto, we suggest drinking 4-6 juices per day that are 16-20 oz each plus at least 64 oz of water. Check out our plans for some ideas like the Long Weekend Reboot which is just juice. http://www.jointhereboot.com/want-to-do-a-juice-only-reboot/
Ready to lose some weight so some other b*stard doesn’t end up raising my kids for me. : )
Hello Stacy, I just received my juicer and am ready to start my Reboot. In reading recipes, there seem to be a lot that have one or two apples. I happen to be allergic to apples, cherries, pears and peaches. What should I substitute that will give me similar benefits and flavor?
Hi Carol, most of our recipes list substituion ideas. Aim for a similar fruit or veggie that is the same color as the one you are replacing. For Apples & Pears you could use citrus instead if you like oranges, grapefruit or any type of melon including the watermelon rind. For cherries either strawberries or raspberries and for peaches plums if you can or cantaloupe, butternut squash or carrots. Wishing you well on your journey!
I started my reboot 3 weeks ago. The first week I lost enough weight that everyone noticed. After that, I can’t seem to shed any more pounds. I gave up my old eating habits, switching from processed, sugary foods to healthy vegtables and fruits. Every morning I make enough juice for an entire day since I’m away from home from 10 am to 8 pm. I use romaine, spinach, carrots, apples and oranges. Sometimes I add kale and beets also. I feel great otherwise but I’m still 20 pounds away from reaching my goal. What am I doing wrong?
Hi Claudia, great job being 3 weeks into your reboot! Weight loss rates will vary and plateaus are not unusual – here are some tips http://www.jointhereboot.com/breaking-through-a-weight-loss-plateau/
See if there is anything here that you can adjust and please do check back
I did the reboot for couple of days and became bery weak and tired. i want to know how to go about it. can you pls help me ?
Hi rukmani, the first few days fatigue is common. Be sure to drink plenty of water and juice to help keep your energy up. Electrolytes may help as well http://www.jointhereboot.com/electrify-your-reboot/
Try to include extra rest and this should pass in a few days. Keep us posted!
What juice do you recommend for the 10 days? I am a little confused I don’t know how to start the program? How many times should I drink the juice? And how much? Would you please help me to start the plan? I already got the juicer the fountain from breville . Thank you. Vivien
Hi Vivien, here is where you can find out plans as a starting point http://www.jointhereboot.com/plans/
Let us know if you have any questions
Day 1 of my juice fast / feast is over, it was a lot easier than I thought although I miss using my teeth already. Not sure how long I’m going to last. I plan on 10 days to start with just like the truck driver Joe from the documentary film. Lets see.
Hello,
My name is Kimber and I enjoyed the film in its entirety immensely. I have been sick with Lyme’s disease and a host of other ailments for many years. As a result it has caused me debilitating effects for months at a time and weight gain. Watching this film may have been the answer to my prayers and provided me with the keys to a successful way of eating and a completely new life change of how I do things from the inside of my body to the outside of my body. I’ll keep you posted. I have my juicer, now I’m preparing my mind and am planning on getting started sometime next week. I’m trying to convince my husband to join me, but if he dosen’t I’ll have to show him instead. I’ll post once I’ve got my ingredients and done a little more reading.
Hello stacy, i am on my third day , i never put anything beside fruit and vegetable in my mouth, however i didnt feel good today and i didnt have access to my juice so i went to a local store and ate a mango, so my question is , is it bad if eat here and there some vegetables or fruits while am on the juice fasting or it has to be completely juice like joe? Thanx
Hi Abdulwahed, congrats for being at day 3 of your reboot! It is absolutely OK to eat fruits/veggies while drinking juice which is one type of reboot – check out our Quick Start program as an example. Some people do choose to strictly juice fast but it is a personal choice not a necessity for beneficial results. Enjoy!
Hi Stacey, i would like to start a reboot but am not sure about the amount of green leafy vegies because i have a blood disorder that causes clotting, can you suggest replacements for juicing instead. Thanks Lea.
Hi Lea, glad you are reaching out and it’s really important that you connect with your doctor before starting a reboot. Choose lower vitamin K green foods like green apples, zucchini, cucumber, romaine lettuce, cabbage, celery and then a wide variety of colorful fruits/veggies like squash, carrot, sweet potato, beets, fennel, etc.. Other foods like mango and cranberry may also need to be limited.
Hi stacey..I am goingto start this Reboot along with my daughter and her friend. But first I need a juicer
MY question is
Do i still take my prescribed meds? I have tons of questions but this is my main one.
Hi Monica, welcome to reboot! Yes you should continue to take your prescribed medication but be sure to check in with your doctor first to see if there is anything you need to be aware of regarding juicing and your medications. Let me know what other questions you have. Wishing you all the best!
Hello Stacy,
I have already done 45 days on juice fasting and I started to feel a little worried, I am extremely very cold and lost too much weight, I was already skinny when I started 48 kg and now I am 41 kg (1.58 cm) and I worry if I am going to lose more weight, my husband don’t understand all this and he thinks I harm my body by not giving it enough nutrition. I drink 500 ml fruit juice in the morning and 1-2 liters vegetables juice during the day, some days I have little juice but drink water and teas but I started to think about food and I am hungry for food and the smell, ohhhh it makes hard for me I must say. I am also very stressed at the moment with some problems of mine, anyway can you please help me with some advice? I am determinate to finish the 60 days and if you can give me some help how to manage the 15 days left I would really appreciate.I think if it was a program step by step with recipes and so on then we would feel more comfortable and confident. I looked around on the website and do not mention anything about having enemas, because if you don’t then how you are going to eliminate the toxins? Through your skin, etc… is not enough. So the program is not that simple just drink juice for 60 days and all your problems are resolved. Lucky I bought the book Gerson therapy and understand the principles but now I need to talk to someone who knows about it.Thank you
Hi Steffy, thank you for reaching out. Here is important information about how to reboot without unwanted weight loss – http://www.jointhereboot.com/how-to-reboot-without-losing-weight/
Since you are at 45 days I would suggest introducing healthy foods and continuing to include fresh juice 1-2 times a day. A 60 day reboot is most appropriate for someone with a lot of weight to lose and for any extended reboot we suggest working with your doctor. If you are having problems with constipation please review this http://www.jointhereboot.com/faq-what-about-constipation/ We do not routinely suggest enemas.
Let me know what you think after reading the suggestions in the article above about liberalizing your jucing to include health plant foods to give your body the nourishment it needs. Here are a few more articles with step by step suggestions

Keep me posted on how you’re doing!
Hi Stacy, I am concerned about getting enough protein. Someone suggested for me to do the juice plan 3 days on and 4 days off. On the off days to juice 2 meals a day and eat one with meat, potato and fresh veges. I would rather do the juice plan fully if I am getting enough protein. What do you think about this info….Thank you
Hi David, thank you for your question. Here is more information on protein and your reboot http://www.jointhereboot.com/protein-the-reboot-setting-the-record-straight/
Yes you can absolutely get many wonderful benefits from juicing 2 meals per day and eating one healthy meal that includes lots of plans. check out our Plus Dinner program for ideas. Enjoy!
I would like to try the 3 or 5 day plan, but I hate raw tomatoes and noticed that a lot of the lunch and dinner juice recipes contain them. Is there anything I can substitute? Is the goal to use a variety of fruits and veggies with 80% being veggies and 20% being fruits?
Hi Heather, yes we encourage a wide variety of colorful fruits and veggies at a ratio of 80 veg/20 fruits during your reboot. Swap tomato for another red veggie/fruit like beets, radish, red grapefruit, blood orange, cherry, strawberry, watermelon, etc… to receive similar nutrients Enjoy!
i don’t quite get this…where is the startup menu?
i don’t quite get this…where is the startup menu?
hi Stacy, i want to start the juicing diet, but i have noticed that on the 4th day, you have start eatng food, which i prefer not to…. can i continue juicing for 60 days without eating solids?
Hi PRIMA, you can extend the just juicing if you are feeling well – for a 60 day reboot we strongly encourage you to work with your doctor. Wishing you all the best!
Hello Stacy, I started making smoothies and then eventually moved on to juices 2 weeks ago. I didn’t get any headaches, but around day 5 I suddenly started to get these gut-wrenching stomachaches that would last until I actually ate something solid and warm. It happened again yesterday, even though I snacked on a pear and some nuts. I had to run out (I was at work) and get soup and only when I started to eat it did the pain go away. Is this normal? My breakfast juice was mean green and lunch juice was apple, carrot, cucumber, kale, spinach.
Hi Heidi, sometimes stomach upset can happen from either an empty or full stomach. If the blended soups help you can integrate those into your juicing plan = we have lots of great soup recipes on the site here. I think keeping 1 smoothie, 1 soup and then juice may be the best way to go and can still promote health and wellness plus weight loss if you are overweight. Here are a few more ideas http://www.jointhereboot.com/juicing-and-digestive-upsets/

You can do this Salvador. Don’t look at it as 15 days, look at it as one day at a time and each day is an accomplishment. Last time I did this I did it for 21 days and lost 25 pounds and felt amazing. I am rebooting again as I have been eating whatever for the past year and I am sick and tired of feeling blah. You will make it to day 15 by taking it one day at a time. Good Luck and happy juicing.
Is the prep plan a necessity?
I’m aimed and ready to fire NOW! LOL
Hi Shericka, the idea of the prep work is to get your body ready for just juice but it’s not a requirement. It can help to reduce headaches and fatigue that are common the first few days. Many people do fine with 3 days of prep. Enjoy!
Hi Stacy!
I am sick all of the time and have a severe sugar addiction. I run a daycare and have 2 kids of my own so eating well is not easy. But lately, I have been sick constantly. I decided 6 days ago to start juicing. I have not eaten any refined sugars or carbs at all and 3X/day I am drinking homemade juices/smoothies. I eat 1 carb free/ protein-rich meal at night. Every time I juice I do add 4-5 green raw veggies (spinach, celery, cucumber etc) but I also add 1 apple, an orange and berries…sometimes banana. Is this okay? I am eating too much fruit? I don’t think I can do this if it isn’t at least somewhat sweet!!! But I am trying to wean myself off of processed sugar too. Is this going to stunt my progress!!?? Thanks
Hi laney, way to go!!! I’m so happy to hear you’ve taken charge of your eating and juicing and feeling well as a result. Sounds like you’ve got a good thing going – many people modify their reboot to include a healthy dinner – like the Plus Dinner Plan on the site. It doesn’t sound like you are having too much fruit – apples, oranges, berries and banana all lend important health promoting nutrients and the amounts you mention sound balanced with your veggie intake. Keep it up!!!
ok I would like to start this but I am on a limited shopping income and have 3 men to feed I want to juice…they can eat whatever…how can i do thin on 25-30 week? just juicing?
Wow Stacy it is nice your reply to alot of people’s messages
hello stacey I started my 10 day juicing fast yestrday and I am just a little confused as to the do’s and donts! For example I juiced a bunch of fruit w/spme spinach and im feeling like are some rules as to which fruits and veggies you can juice/mix together? BTW my main goal is weight loss please and thank you:-)
Hi Shaune, welcome to reboot! You can mix any fruits and veggies that you wish and only make adjustments to that if it doesn’t agree with you digestively or taste wise. Have you seen our plans? http://www.jointhereboot.com/plans/
Check out the Long Weekend Reboot for an example of just juice – which you can modify with other recipes from this site or of your own creation – and you can extend it out for the 10 days. We suggest drinking 4-6 juices per day at 16-20 oz each plus at least 64 oz of water. Enjoy! Let me know if you have any questions.
Stacy i want to try the rebot and i have read the website. What are the rules for days of eating and days of just juicing? i read on the website that you go 5 days juicing then 5 days eating fruit and veg’s? and so on. Plus explain this to me..
Hi Emily, welcome to reboot! Have you seen the downloadable plans? http://www.jointhereboot.com/plans/
They may help to answer your questions. For just juice we suggest 4-6 per day that are 16-20 oz each and for juice + eat juice at least once a day and total of juice + eating about 4-5 times per day. For both drink lots of water. Check out the plans and let me know if you have any questions.
is there someplaces where the different plans are outlined. I know there are a certion number of days to just juice and a certion number of days to eat veg’s and fruit as well? also what about how many juices should i have a day?
I’m ready to jump onboard and juice! However, the only Plan for juice only is the 3-day plan. After watching the film, it appeared as if some of these people were only juicing for more than three days. Just keep juicing and repeat the three days over? Please advise, and thank you.
Hi Marilynn, welcome to reboot! Excited for you to begin juicing. Here are some ideas for how to extend the 3 day juice plan for longer http://www.jointhereboot.com/want-to-do-a-juice-only-reboot/
Enjoy! Let us know if you have any questions.
In the past I have juiced using my Breville. Recently I purchased a Vitamix. Is it ok to use my Vitamix rather then just juicing with the Breville? It seems that the pulp would add tremendous fiber as well as nutrients. Also there is less waste which = less expense. Thank You
hi, amom2all, yes you can use your blender to reboot – it’s different from juicing but can be healthy too. Here’s more info about this http://www.jointhereboot.com/the-great-debate-juicing-vs-smoothies/
Enjoy!
Hello, Stacy
I’m going to start a reboot but I don’t know, how to start or wich juice should I started to drink.
Hi Raul, welcome to reboot! Have you seen our plans? http://www.jointhereboot.com/plans/
Take a look, download the instructions and sample juices then get out your juicer and enjoy! Let us know if you have any questions.
Hello Stacey,
I started my reboot today after watching a few documentaries about not only the wrong way we eat in america but also the wrong way our animals and food is being raised. My questions is, since I Am about 200 pounds what should be the amount of juicing I Have to consume in 1 single day? Thank you for the advice and God Bless You !
Hi John, welcome to reboot! How is it going so far? We suggest drinking 4-6 juices a day at 16-20 oz each plus at least 64 oz of water but you may do better up at 72-80 oz of water. Let me know if you have ?s.
11/24/2012 425lb. first day started my reboot
what is the best juice (recipes) for extreme diabetic level (28.1)?
Hi 206 – here is more on sugar, diabetes and your reboot http://www.jointhereboot.com/sweetness-how-to-manage-your-sugar-intake-and-reboot-with-diabetes-2/
We would suggest starting off with the Quick Start or other plan that includes eating whole veggies/fruits and juice to help manage your sugar levels, and walking. Wishing you all the best! Let us know if you have any ?s
Hi Stacey – one quick question that does not seem to be answered and I would rather hear your opinion than ask my doctor as I know what they would say (new age argy bargy – you are fine, stop being a sissy, etc). I had my gallbladder removed 5 days ago and am still struggling to eat pain free, despite being told that I could resume a ‘normal’ diet after surgery. I have found that fresh juice is tolerated by my distressed digestive system better than any other food I have tried since the operation. What is the recommendations about doing a rebot (I am considering the juice and dinner plan) in regards to someone like myself who is recovering from such surgery? Thanks.
Hi Jennie, I think the juice plus dinner plan sounds like it could be a good option to help you have easy to digest nutrients plus adequate overall nutrition and protein to assist with surgery recovery. It is important to check in with your doc or nurse to be sure given the specifics of your case. For foods, stick with cooked veggie based meals and you may even wish to include some with your juice lunch. Here are some helpful hints for adding more protien to juice – which you will need for recovery initially http://www.jointhereboot.com/protein-the-reboot-setting-the-record-straight/
Also a great article from Claire on gallbladder and digestion

Hi Stacey
I would feel honored if you answer my post, I’m truely in awe of your achievments, your parents undoubtedly are so proud.
Fatty Liver in someone attempting to build lost muslce mass. Can I
drink whey protein with soy milk?? In addition to to the 50% rainbow vege’s, 25% lean protein and 25% whole grain. Also are their any supplements I should be avoiding?? Thank you so much!!
Hi Georgie, thanks for your excellent question! Have you seen Claire’s informative article on fatty liver? http://www.jointhereboot.com/fatty-liver/
Here is more about protein and your reboot – tips on what you could add to juice for more of this macronutrient http://www.jointhereboot.com/protein-the-reboot-setting-the-record-straight/ — a plant based protein like pea or hemp rather than whey or soy is best during your reboot.
We suggest eliminating vitamin supplements except those either prescribed by your doctor or those you are taking to correct a deficiency like Vitamin D for most reboots – especially those lasting 5-15 days. For an extended reboot you may want to add more supplements but this is a case by case basis – we do suggest working with your doctor and getting blood tests to see if you need to add in, for example, B12. You are correct that 50% veggies (rainbow!), 25% protein and 25% whole grains are suggested for your plate for long term healthy eating — a reboot is a time dedicated to just fruits and veggies, so your percentages will be more like 100% rainbow of veggies! There is protein in vegetables too and also compelx carbohydrate in some like sweet potato.
Wishing you all the best – let me know if you have any questions.
How specifically do you recommend getting that 25% lean protein every day when juicing? I am vegetarian but I do eat fish. I have been supplementing with raw protein once a day between or with juice.
Hi Kathi, here is more about protein and your reboot http://www.jointhereboot.com/protein-the-reboot-setting-the-record-straight/
Including raw protein to supplement works well for many people.
I am Helen and I am desperetly in need of a life style change, I am very ill, last week i was in the Hospital with an non-mechanical obstruction (Illeus) I am anemic and the lymph nodes in my small intestines are swollen without any presence of infection. the obstruction is being caused by the enlarged nodes, my doctor says it is not life threatnining, i cant eat anything without severe pain, i am hoping with the Reboot I can reboot my digestive track….I am tired of living in pain
Hi Helen, welcome to reboot! I think that juice could be an excellent way for you to increase your intake of phytonutrients from fruits and veggies in the setting of your recent ileus. The nutrients in plants can also help to reduce inflammation and provide iron (especially kale, spinach, leeks, swiss chard, beet/mustard/turnip/collard greens) – adding in a Vitamin C rich fruit or veggie like strawberries, orange, kiwi, broccoli will help enhance the iron absorption. These fiber rich foods may need to be consumed as juice initially to help prevent too much insoluble fiber while you remain at risk for another blockage – check with your doctor or dietitian. Let us know how we can help.
Just want to eat healthy and loose 10 kilo,s
Just want to eat healthy and loose 10 kilo,s
I am .2 days into my green juice fast im feeling tied and having body aches is this normal?
hi Stacy i just want to eat healthy and loose 10 kilo,s
I am .2 days into my green juice fast im feeling tied and having body aches is this normal?
Hi Jean, great question! Thanks for sharing your health goals and how you are feeling. Yes it is very common to feel achy and tired the first few days especially on day 2. To help ease this drink more water, more juice and get more rest. This should pass by days 3-5 but keeping up with enough fluids and nutrients in juice is really important. Wishing you all the best and keep us posted on how you’re doing.
Stacy,
Is is necessary to do a pre-fast cleanse or diet of some sort before starting a juice fast or diet? I really want to start right away with a 15 day juice fast. Thanks for all that do to help this community!
Hi mhf99 – it is not a requirement to pre-reboot but a suggestion to help minimize fatigue, headache and other symptoms the first few days. But not everyone does it and some feel just fine – be sure to drink plenty of juice and water. If you drink a lot of caffeine you may want to wean off slowly and also increase your intake of veggies if you don’t already eat a lot. Wishing you well – keep us posted on how you do!
Hi Stacy, My wife and I just watched the video( loved it). I just made a life style change( no more alcohol-had a problem) any good juices for cleancing for those toxins in my body. Also my wife is in good shape, she want to do it together(good wife),im not in good shape. Can we do the same juices?
Hi IvaJess, so glad you both enjoyed the film! For cleansing green juices are fantastic – any juice with cruciferous veggies is great for the liver and detox – like kale, cabbage, radishes, broccoli, cauliflower. Here are a few suggestions

Hi there. I am a mother of 3 with post natal depression. So the thought of moving of the couch is quite hard. I want to start this program. We are going on holidays in about 10 weeks and would love to get into bathers (yes its warm where we live at the moment) What roboot would you recommend, i am ready to change my mindset and get better, I need to for my family and especially for me.
I just started juicing, and want to identify the critical health risks with juicing? I read a little about oxalic acid, esp. in beets. I haven’t been a beet eater so juicing seems a way to conquer that, but I am concerned about the amount. Also, same with green veggies. I can follow recipes, but would rather just load my juicer up and enjoy. Are there any other combinations or quantities of a specific fruit or veggie that should be avoided? Thanks!
feeling very sick with my weight and how i eat.
Hi Stacy! I just joined the site a few hours ago and have been reading a lot of info on juicing. I have A LOT of weight to lose! I’m at 252 now and my Doctor says I should try aiming the 155-160 range. I asked her if Juicing would be ok for me to do and she said yes. However I’m wondering if I will really be able to lose that much weight on it. I have seen the movie, and thought it was GREAT! But I have tried other diets and none worked for me. So I guess I’m worried that it wont work for me.
Hi Jenn! Welcome to reboot! That’s wonderful your doctor is supportive of your desire to juice and lose weight. There are so many wonderful stories of success here – check out our most recent rebooter profile for some inspiration http://www.jointhereboot.com/56-year-old-joe-r-feels-better/
The reboot is intended to help with weight loss for those who are overweight but also to help promote a long term lifestyle change which most diets don’t live up to. We look forward to working with you on your journey to better health! Let us know if you have any questions along the way.
hey stacy
i am 190pounds with 5 feet tall. i want to know how much i should reduce at least and how long i should follow juice diet.i am very much addicted to coffee with cream.and once a week i take beer.
i eat fired iteams of indian food and rice.i dont take chocolates, cakes cheese.can you send me any paln which could suit my life style.
Is it OK to juice in the morning and take it to work with me?
Hi Camo, yes absolutely! Here are some guidelines about juice on the go
http://www.jointhereboot.com/june-group-reboot-day-2-juicing-on-the-go/
Is it ok to use frozen fruit? Some of the fruit at the market didn’t really look good this week, so I was wondering if I could use frozen.
Hi Jenn, Yes, you can use frozen fruits just let them thaw first. Here is more about this topic
http://www.jointhereboot.com/fruits-veggies-frozen-vs-fresh/
Thank you!
Im on day 3 and I suffer from insomnia really bad. I am so sleepy right now! Is that a coincidence or does juicing really cure that?!
Hi Anna, juicing can help with sleep! So glad you are experiencing this. Here’s more info
http://www.jointhereboot.com/you-snooze-you-lose-and-why-thats-a-good-thing/
Hi Stacy, I’m looking at doing the 15 day reboot and i’d just like to know when it is suitable to have a juice and when you should be eating actual food as it is both a juicing and food reboot. I’m a little confused about it and just need a little help. Thanks
Hi Nichole, We suggest easing into and out of a juice only reboot with a few days of eating + juicing. check out the Long Weekend plan for just juice ideas as well as days 6-10 of the Classic 15 day reboot.
Few questions Stacy, if the shakes are meal replacements how many should I have a day ? How much training can I do if I was going to tackle a 60 day reboot ? Where is my energy coming from? And could I bring macronutrients like protein and CHO back into my diet when I finish ? Protein is vital for the muscles so will my strength and muscle mass deplete ? I couldn’t find this info in the movie and these are my worries before starting

Let me know if you have any questions after checking out these articles. Wishing you all the best!
hi there! ive already started juicing, 5 days, but ive continued to have a balanced meal for dinner. i lead a very active life and have 4 jobs and so do not want to lose energy or muscle mass, im wondering if strait juice is safe for these. i’d love to go all the way for a while, and im very exited to wipe the slate clean and start fresh!
Hi Tracy, you could give straight juice a try since you’ve been primarily juicing for 5 days. Be sure to drink a few extra juices to support your energy and muscle mass – especially green juices which have more protein. See how you feel and if your energy stays up keep going – otherwise juice all day with a healthy dinner is still a great way to boost your nutrition and wellness potential.
To eating and drinking in kind!
Hi Stacy, in the movie FSND, he shows us the juice drinking…does he drink only one type on his diet???
HI Imdam – Joe did drink a lot of green juice during his 60 day reboot in FSND – but including other colorful fruits and veggies is important to get all the nutrients you need -so his wasn’t exclusively green. Enjoy!
Do you suggest anything in place of coconut water? I am allergic to coconuts.
Hi Joy, the main purpose of the coconut water is for electrolytes – here are other ideas you could substitute http://www.jointhereboot.com/electrify-your-reboot/
Hi Stacy. Are there any substitutes for some of the vegetables (due to allergies), like tomatoes and kale?
Hi Taustin, yes absolutely! For tomatoes – try another red veggie/fruit rich in lycopene like red grapefruit, watermelon, red bell pepper, radish. For kale – green cabbage, arugula/rocket, swiss chard/silverbeet are in the same family as are beet green/mustard/collard/turnip greens. Spinach also works well. Enjoy!
Hi Stacey,
Thanks for all your great info so far! Im on day 17 of juice only (though I included some veg broth with small broccoli pieces tonight) and am feeling good. I wanted to “reboot” to lose weight – 7kgs so far! – but also to help clear up some other health issues. One of them is a type of urticaria with swelling, itchiness, redness, heat and pain. I can get it anywhere but most commonly the soles of the feet or my hands and in particular (but not only) in any area where pressure has been applied – like my hands if I do pushups, my arm where I rest the shopping basket, that sort of thing. It started 5 years ago when I spent about 6 months drinking far too much red wine. And has continues since then if I have preservatives or additives… or fruit. I have been told amongst other things it is due to salicylates and am finding if I have too many apples in my juices ( I mostly do 80/20 veggies) symptoms return.
I really want to be able to eat fruit and am hoping a fast/reboot would clear my system so to speak. Do you have any experience with this sort of thing?
Sorry for the long post, thanks for your time and Merry Christmas!
Tam.
Hi Tam – thanks and hope you had a wonderful holiday! Glad you are losing weight and doing well so far. Yes a reboot can help to reset your system and reduce the swelling, itchiness symptoms you get but may not make it go away completely. Follow juicing up with a plant based diet being careful to continue avoiding any ingredients you feel may trigger your symptoms like too many apples (and always get organic for these). Keep us posted! Wishing you all the best
is there a shopping list i can download. My first time juicing.
Hi Stacy. I would like to try the reboot to hopefully help with my extreme eczema in Hong Kong. However, as I am on the thin side, I am worried about the weight loss. Is there any suggestion you can give me or shall I just go for the 3 days juicing?
Hi Andrea, here are tips for keeping your weight steady during a reboot – which can help with eczema! http://www.jointhereboot.com/how-to-reboot-without-losing-weight/
Starting with the 3 day is a great idea. Wishing you all the best.
Hello Stacy, I have a question about a reboot. Is it like a cleanse where your body releases toxins? The reason I ask is because I am nursing my 2yr old currently and obviously don’t want any toxins to release into my milk. (BTW-He doesn’t only live off my milk)
Hi JC – correct we don’t advise a reboot while nursing in part because of potential toxin release and transfer into the breastmilk. But including fresh juice in a healthy plant based diet is a great way to go for now!
Hi Stacy, I had a gastric bypass and know that too much sugar causes dumping syndrome, I asked my GP about this diet and he reccommended loosing the last 20kg (about 30lbs) with this diet. Do you reccomend this for someone who has had a gastric bypass whereby fluid doen’t hang around long in the small pouch (stomach)?
Hi Stacy, I’m a 38 mother of 3 boys who is very sick. I weigh 250+. and I have spent the past three years killing myself with food. I took care of my dying mother addict husband and forgot who I was. Someone that loved to workout daily feel strong and loved life. I bought a juicer today and I’m ready to begin a new way of life. I watched the fat sick and dying video on Netflix and was so motivated to change. When detoxing do I juice 4+ times a day? What about fluids, is that only water? I know in the video the juiced for over 30 days. Was that just juicing and no solid foods? Thanks for help!
Hi Terri, welcome to reboot! Glad to see you are here and ready to take care of you – we would love to help! We suggest drinking 4-6 juices throughout the day that are 16-20 oz each plus at least 64 oz of water. Check out our plans for some ideas. If you want to include veggies/fruits you can along with juice – that’s like the Juice Until Dinner or Quick Start programs. Let me know if you have any questions.
Hello Stacy, I started the cleanse on Friday but so far I have some issues that would qualify as major. I don’t have real cravings for other foods unless I’m hungry but I’m a breastfeeding mother and today (Saturday), there was a decrease in my milk supply. It could be that I really only had about 2 – 2 1/2 liters of juice all day but for my second day in, my head hurts, I’m constantly hungry and I really don’t want to not have enough in me to make milk for my son and have leftover for my body to use. Is there something special breastfeeding moms should do different for others?
Hi Annj18, thanks for reaching out. We do not advise a reboot or cleanse while nursing. Besides a negative impact on your milk supply and how you feel from inadequate energy/nutrient intake that you noticed you and baby may not receive all the nutrients you need to support your health while nursing, some ingredients in juice can aggravate baby’s tummy and very importantly released toxins that you may express might transmit into the breastmilk he/she is drinking. We would suggest adding in 1 fresh juice a day and eating a well balanced plant based diet then trying a full reboot once you are no longer nursing your little one. Let me know if you have any questions.
Hi Stacy. How many juices per day do I have to have and of which quantity of fruits and vegetables each has to have?.Thank you,
Hi skinny2013 – here is all the info http://www.jointhereboot.com/plans/
Check out the Long Weekend Reboot for just juice ideas and recipe suggestions.
Enjoy!
I am 56 and starting this on Monday Jan.1, 2013 I want to reboot myself to feel better about myself I have been very sick for the past 8 years and have been to many Doctors and could not find the cause until I moved and had to change Doctors they found out in 3 day’s what the problem was I had Thyroid Cancer and after they took both sides of my Thyroid I had started feeling better all over and I started researching life style changes and remembered watching Joe’s movie and went on you tube and watched the interview he did and found this site I was so excited I can’t wait to get started
Hello Fellow Juicers…I’m a newbie, and I’m gathering all my information so I can start as soon as possible. I need to buy a juicer, any recommendations?
Hello Stacy! I have a question about the reboot. I was curious if I would get the same results if I blend my veggies and fruits instead of juicing them? I have a juicer, but it isn’t a very good one and I waste a lot of veggies and fruits. I plan to get the breville, but I don’t have it yet. Will I be able to blend these and get great results for loosing weight?
Thanks!
Hello all, I’m not new to the juicing world but I’ve slacked off quite a bit. I at one point in my life weighed 300 lbs. I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure. That really scared me. I now weigh 241 lbs with the help of portion control and walking. I need to do something to jump start my weight loss again.
Hi Tam here’s more about juicing vs blending. Both can be a healthy and excellent choice for results like weight loss http://www.jointhereboot.com/the-great-debate-juicing-vs-smoothies/ Sounds like starting sooner is a good idea – so begin with your blender then when your Breville arrives try just juice and see what you think!
I wanted to touch base with you I have been doing the reboot for 14 days now and I am down 18 lbs so far I can’t wait to get to 60 I am feeling so great I can not beleave the difference in my overlall wellbeing I love it.
Im breastfeeding but would really like to drink the juices to add nutrients to my diet. I have tried a few already but am worried i may be upsetting my baby’s tummy. Which juice recipes do you recommend?
Hi Kylie, try something simple like carrot apple ginger. Also time juice about 2 hours from nursing. We don’t advise a full reboot though while nursing but including juice once a day is a great idea. Here’s more. http://www.rebootwithjoe.com/pregnant-and-breastfeeding-can-i-reboot/
I am doing very well I am on day 28 and I am down 31lbs. I could not be any happier with the way things are going I went to the Doctors to have my Cholesterol numbers checked and here they are before I started the over all was 389 HDL 43 LDL 299 Triglycerides was 40 now my over all is 170 HDL 80 LDL 75 and my Triglycerides are 75 they could not bee any better than that I am so happy I was 196 on day one and now I am 165 I will maintain now.
Dear Stacy,
I am on an extended Reboot, and I am concerned with getting enough sodium and potassium. I am REALLY craving salt! Would a homemade veggie broth do the trick? Thanks!
Hi Linda, homemade veggie broth with some sea salt is a great idea. Also adding in more coconut water, celery and beets to juices for sodium. You can even sprinkle sea salt on veggie juices for a nice flavor and more electrolytes. The coconut water will be a big help with potassium and also blending avocado or banana into a juice. Veggies/fruits for juicing and potassium include melon, winter squash varieties, carrots, sweet potato.
Stacy, I am a hunter gather. I hunt for my meat and catch my fish. After the 15day Reboot will I be able to meat again? I have Elk and Deer. I catch Salmon yearly and freeze it. Also I raise a pig my self. Is this al good after the Reboot?
Thanks,
Bob
Hi Bob, how wonderful you catch your own protein and avoid mass produced versions which can be so unhealthy. You may certainly reintroduce animal proteins that are wild (yours certainly are!) in small amounts post-reboot. We encourage you to continue to have plant foods be the primary focus of your diet but having small amounts of meats or fish to compliment these plant foods is healthy as well.
I am on day 38 of my 60 day juice fast and down 30 lbs. My question is how to continue losing weight after the 60 days is over. I have heard different things like eat only plant based, go primal, low carbs, etc. I know for me personally I don’t do well on grains, pasta and white potatoes, etc. Until the juice fast I would have said I needed meat to get through the day without being shaky so Primal or Atkins were more ideal. However, now that I’m on strictly juice there is no shakiness. So I’m a little confused as what to do after the fast is over. I have heard different things regarding carbs from things like beans, sweet potatoes and nuts. Any suggestions or resources would be much appreciated. I don’t want to go right back to where I was before
I have completed the 10 day reboot back in July 2012. I still juice nearly every day. The more I juice the more constipated I get. The worse I have ever been. Can you tell me what would cause this. Would it be my liver?
Hi Irene, there could be a variety of causes and worth investigating so you can juice and feel well. Are you drinking enough water? What are you juicing? What else are you eating/drinking? Do you have any pre-existing health conditions? Would be happy to help.
When I do juicing I feel great for the first 3 or 4 days….then I start to get cold without the ability to get warm (never hand this issue before) and the worst is feeling flush. It’s very frustrating. Any suggestions you can give me would be great. I am probably 110-120lbs over weight. I used to be a competitive power lifter and would just like to get back into shape.
Hi Stacy,
I noticed the first time I went on the website “Fat Sick Nearlly Dead” that you had a posting that indicated a schedule for which juice to drink at various times of the day. Is there anyway you could repost that?
Thanks,
Andrene
Hi Andrene, you can download plans with suggested schedule by visiting http://www.rebootwithjoe.com/rebooting/plans/
Enjoy!
Tomorrow is Day 10 of my 10 Day Juice Fast. I just started looking today at how to break it and I guess my fast will spend a few extra days with just solid fruits and veggies; maybe some quinoa. Darn, I was looking forward to a carne asada burrito.
