Seasonal: Celery, Cucumber, & Pear Green Juice

Green juices are popular because they are high in nutrients that help with blood clotting, rich in calcium, B vitamins, and immune-boosting vitamin C. Green juices are also generally lower in sugar as they are made using mostly vegetables.
This healthy juice can be a great staple in your New Years resolution to get more fruits and vegetables into your diet. You can drink this healthy juice at breakfast, lunch, dinner or as a mid-morning or afternoon snack. It is quick to make, is slightly sweet from the pears, and packs a big nutritional punch. The sodium-rich celery makes this juice good for replenishing salt lost in sweat from working out.
Like all other juices you can make this one ahead of time, store it in the fridge in an air-tight container, and give it a quick stir before you enjoy it!
Ingredients:
1 medium cucumber
3 celery stalks
1 1/2 small to medium pears
3 handfuls kale
Directions
1.) Rinse all ingredients
2.) Add ingredients through juicer.
3.) Serve and enjoy!

Great taste.
Hey Isabel,
I just tried this drink and it was great! Still green but didn’t have the over powering taste that some of the green drinks I have tried. Great one!
yummo
What is the nutritional values for this juice? i.e. calories, etc. Thanks.
1 handful of kale = ~ how many leaves?
Thanks
you would need at least six leaves
Gretting to all… I’d like to know what is the meaning of kale and leaves in lat. Spanish my dictionary can’t help me…
Kale is “Col Rizada” and leaves is “las hojas”.
I hope this can help you.
repollo rizado o col rizada
Its called Col in spanish =)
I use the Kale, cucumber, celery, lemon, apple and ginger drink daily.
Do yiou have any suggestions to reduce the sodium level in my blood ?
When I consulted my doctor, he was worried about me not taking in enough sodium on the juice fast. If you have a high sodium intake on the juice fast, you need to see a doctor about it. If you are juicing as part of your diet and not juice fasting, reduce the salt use in cooking at home, don’t put extra salt on food, and avoid foods with moderate or high sodium. Aim for only low sodium foods. The best way to control sodium though is by cooking at home.
i love this taste awesome with great physical

This is a great way to get all of the awesome nutrients from veggies for your body…try to buy organic when you can…still wash all veggies very well….I would suggest removing only using the leaves of the kale (I find the stem makes it taste a little stronger)…..I like to add an apple to this…..make it your own….your body will reward you …..in health…
Just made this its great! Very refreshing!

So wish when juices are listed they listed quantities in liquid or weight rather than just small, medium or pieces. My pieces may be different size, my small may not be originator’s small, my handfull may be smaller/larger and hence the juices are totally different tasting then expected. Not pointed directly at this juice or originator but to all that put juice recipes up. Will be trying this one but substituting something for kale as can not find it here
spinach would be a great substitute for kale; it’s a little milder and should be easier to find. I just tried this one today for the first time and really liked it. I modified it a bit – 2 pears, and 4 handfuls of kale, otherwise basically the same.
I just made this with spinach instead of kale and it was really good!
Great combo.
how do you get the actual receipts for juicing?
I added 2 green apples, this is the best GREEN drink I have tasted so far.
This was my very first juice to make & it was pretty good. Cheers to improving our health!!
super YUM YUM YUM my boyfriend and I both loved this. We could easily drink this every day. These are the juices that make the reboot easier and fun.
I just tried this today and it is tastes great! Thanks for the recipe, I’ve never used pear before.
I love this juice. It has a celery after taste. I want to add banana next time. Since I started my blog, all my recipes are very unhealthy. This year I am adding juice to my diet and eating much healthier. Thanks for this recipe.
I dunno about juicing a banana…maybe for a blender juice
I was wondering if maybe this means for 3 ribs of celery- 3 stalks is a LOT of celery!
a stalk and a rib are the same…are you thinking of a bunch?
aaaannnnd, I just looked at my bag of celery and it said “contains one stalk” so apparently I don’t know what I’m talking about!
do you need organic because of the celery
umm kind of a overthrowing green taste pears don’t do as good as apples to help thta

First day of juicing. Im goingon a complete all juice diet. Does 64oz sound about right per day?
Hi, Bobby:)
A good minimum is 3 quarts fresh juice per day plus water during juice fasting. You may feel hungry drinking 64oz. If you do, or experience cravings, juice more! And don’t forget to drink water. Hth!
I tried this and could not believe how revolting it tasted! Maybe I did something wrong, but wow!
i can barely force myself to drink this one
Really liked this one didnt put as much cucumber in but its was awesome
Me and my family tried it for the first time and we loved it! It gave me a ton of energy and clarity. i would not drink this at night as this will give you a ton of energy.
What juice combinations could one add Pineapple?
Hi all I’m about to start the 60 day fasting. Does anyone know how many ounces I should be drinking per day. Thank you!:-)
A good starting point is 3 quarts per day. If you find that you’re hungry or having cravings you can drink more juice
And don’t forget to drink water. Hth!

I tried this juice for my first green juice, it’s ok. I did need to add an apple. I believe if you have to add some fruit to get it down, go for it. Getting green juice into your body is the number one goal.
Using up some ingredients from this week’s basket in the juicer. Great healthy energy kick for the afternoon! How… http://t.co/fmelO2xJip
