Cherry Coco-Choco Smoothie

Craving a chocolate bar? Just make a nutritious smoothie instead containing super nutrients and super foods. Cherries are full of specialised anthocynanin compounds such as peonidin and cyanidin which may support healthy glucose metabolism, ward off cancer, combat hypertension and fight cardiovascular disease, protect the brain against Alzheimer’s disease and reduce inflammation in joint conditions.  Enjoy!

Ingredients:
1 cup/110 g cherries, pitted (frozen or fresh)
1 cup/250 ml almond milk
2 Tbsp shredded coconut
1 Tbsp coconut oil
2 Tbsp cacao powder
1 Tbsp honey
1 handful of ice (3 -4 cubes)

Directions:

1. Add all the ingredients into the blender.

2. Blend on high for 45 – 60 seconds until smooth. Enjoy!

Substitutions:
Cherries – raspberries, blueberries, blackberries
Almond milk – coconut milk, Hemp seed milk, cashew milk, coconut water
Coconut – almonds, cashews
Honey – rice malt, maple syrup
