Nashi Pear Juice – Recipe Of The Week
Nashi Pear Juice – Recipe Of The Week

The Nashi pears (aka Asian Pears) in Australia have been looking rather delicious so I had to grab some to juice and my little girl loves them! If Nashi pears are not available for you, you can always replace this with a regular pear. Sometimes these are called papples (cross between a pear and an apple although they technically are not a hybrid of the two). The Nashi pear is crunchy like an apple with the grainy texture and flavour of a pear. The fruit is very juicy and is a great thirst quencher. Nashi pears contain vitamin K, vitamin C, potassium, magnesium, phosphorus and manganese.
Nashi Pear Juice
2 Nashi Pears
2 Green Apples
2-3 Sticks of Celery
1 Lemon
Directions:
- Wash all the ingredients and chop if needed
- Peel the lemon if desired (the peel gives the juice a more bitter taste)
- Juice
- Pour over ice
Enjoy!
Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Makes 1 serving 500mls (16oz)
Substitutions or Additions:
Nashi Pears – Pear, any type of Apple
Green Apple – any other type of Apple, Zucchini, Lime, Kiwi
Celery – Cucumber, Zucchini, Lime, Cabbage, Spinach, Kale
Lemon – Orange, Lime, Mandarin

mmm. this is so delicious! I really need to do another reboot.
Is this ok to have twice a day or should we be looking at drinking more of a mean green twice a day to get the weight loss benefits?
I loved this juice, nice morning drink!
Made some substitutions (didn’t have a Nashis so I used Bartletts, and I had to use kale for the celery) and this was still very delicious! Will be making this again and again:-)
This was a great juice! I’m only on day one though and I was trying to stick with mostly veggie juices all day. This juice was my end of the day reward. I didn’t have green apples, so used red. To make up for the loss of green I used a peeled lime instead of a lemon. Fantastic! Thanks!
[...] Today I wanted to try something new and bold. Pears were on sale the other day so I picked up a bunch at Jerry’s Fruit Market (they have some of the best prices on fruit and veggies in the Chicago land area!). For breakfast today, I had used the following recipe from Joe’s website: [...]
