Welcome Victoria! I look forward to reading your posts and insights. Today is day one for me! I got a late start because I was concerned about my blood sugar level this morning. Although I am not on diabetes medication, I had notice a sharp increase in my blood sugar with every passing day as I waited for my juicing machine to arrive. This morning my blood sugars were at a whopping 279, the highest fasting blood sugar I have ever had. My blood pressure has been on a steady increase as well….all reasons I decided to begin the reboot, but for some reason while waiting for my machine…all my bad numbers were sharply increasing. I have an appointment with my with my Dr. 7 days from now as I wanted to keep track of what was going on during my reboot. Hopefully the 3 day detox and the 10 day reboot will help bring both numbers down so I don’t have to begin meds for diabetes. A good note, after waiting until my glucose dropped to 130, after drinking my first juice, my sugar only went up 40 points! Whereas yesterday after a “normal” meal, my numbers spiked 110 points.
My husband is diabetic and also has congestive heart failure with a pacemaker/ defibulater installed. His blood sugars routinely ran 250 – 300 before he started to juice. His average blood sugars while juicing are running 100- 140 most days . He feels great and has a lot more energy. Good luck
Thanks for posting that Elizabeth…it gives me hope! My fasting blood sugar was 138 this morning, but it did spike up to 233 after juicing. I am taking my blood sugar more frequently now to keep track of what it is doing. Do you know how long it took for your husband’s blood sugar to start dropping after juicing?
Hi Elizabeth what a positive testimonial on your husband. WOW. Are you also doing the juicing?
Hi Rosie sounds as though you are getting some positive signs early into the plan! You sound motivated and ready for change! Keep up the awesome work!
Hi Victoria! 10 days on the Juice Reboot with 2 days that were eating days dues to previous engagements. Each day after the meal date, back on, and down 13.7 pounds!!!!!!!! Onward! I have about 50 more to go, walking most days extended 2-3-4 mile hikes, walks! YEAH!!
Watermelon juice is a gas!!! Yeee-hawww! Very happy here!
WOW! Fantastic to read your comments! What a terrific effort 13.7 pounds! Keep me posted look forward to hearing more positive news from you!
Thanks Victoria…. I will follow you
Love the support! Happy to share and write articles on what the community is keen to hear about so any feedback and suggestions are warmly welcome too!
Well I am glad to see a place where we can share and discus.
I’m 6 days in. I plan on going 60 days with a vegan meal at the end of each day i’m 10 pounds down and my acne is clearing up. I have decided that a cup or two of coffee a day wont kill me either. You can say maybe I’m not that strict with it, But at 150 pounds and 5’3 and planning on doing this for 60 days I felt as though I could spare the time. My only health concern for myself is my allergies, I’ve been sick with them for about 6 months and have had to be on stairoids 4 times as my asthma takes over everything.
Hopeing to keep meat and bad food out of my diet after the 60 days as well. This was a harsh leason for myself to relize I really just can’t eat what I want.
Thanks All
You are making the first step towards your wellness! That deserves a huge acknowledgment Kristina! Small positive steps each day are better than taking big unrealistic ones that you potentially lose motivation along the way so please recognize you have taken the hardest step by starting! In time when you feel really well and full on energy you will naturally choose to not eat foods that make you feel unwell because you will LOVE feeling fabulous
I’m just gathering all my material to get started on a 10 day reboot. What is your juicer of choice? The one I am using seems to have a lot of waste especially when trying to juice leafy greens like kale and parsley. I have a budget for a high end juicer I just want to be sure I’m getting a good one. Thx Joe
I got a Jack LaLanne. I am a member of A.F.P.A. The owner who more money than me got one. I got the black one with the larger mouth, This is a good starter and I love it.
My personal favorite juicer is the Vitamix I have been using this for years. I like now being able to throw all my veges and fruit into it and you get ALL the goodies and fiber – not just the liquid. Hope that helps.
Hi Victoria,
This is day one for me and I am struggling already. I am following the 3 day juice fast plan so I can sample the juices and I have hit 2 of them that are terrible. I cannot drink the bitter tasting ones and am afraid I will just give up.
Congrats on surviving the first day! DONT GIVE UP!! Drink your favorite juices particularly if you are only doing the 3 day juice fast plan. If you let me know what you favorite one is perhaps we can introduce some other ingredients to the one you like so you get a better nutrient mix? Remember it may take some fine tuning to mix the ingredients to get a taste YOU LOVE! Get back to me and lets chat further V
Hi Victoria and everybody! I thought I would be alone in this, but I can see I have lots of company. This is day one. I am a bit scared that I too will fail because diets have failed me so many times. I’ve dabbled in juicing but never done a 15 day juice fast. I am doing the Quick Start. Tomorrow I start eating only fresh fruits and veggies. I too am diabetic so I am looking forward to seeing my numbers come down as well. Well, hello everyone.
Hi Kathy and no you are not alone! Well done for starting! Can I ask whats you big goal doing the juicing? If you are clear on your end result (the goal) you will 100% find motivation to stay on track but if you are not REALLY inspired by WHY you are doing this it will prove a challenge and this is where many give up…! So get back to me and let me know what you real intention is and what you want to get from your juicing experience – is it primarily focused on your diabetes health issue? Look forward to hearing from you Kathy.
I was eating more vegetables and stop eating chicken. Over a month i was just eating tofu as my protein and juicing. I am losing my hair lack of protein. I am starting my Reboot on Saturday June 23. This is my second week eating fish twice a week and bumping my organic protein powder vegetable base before the reboot. Is the protein enought on the program?
Or should I still take the protain powder during my reboot?
Thank-you
Hi Sharon do you feel better having protein each day? For me I added protein into my juices each day to give a higher ‘kick’. My body just loves protein. Again, this is such an individual journey and sometimes it takes a little tweaking to get your formula of juicing working for you. My advice is to TRUST what you feel is right for you and remember to celebrate the small wins along the way! Pat yourself on the back and tell yourself each day that passes you are a step closer to a healthier more vital YOU!
HI,
When I eat all fruit or Juicing in the morning. I get hungry after wards. About half hour. I don’t have a sugar problem Good health and I run a fitness Center at a College
Tomorrow is Day 1 of my reboot. I saw the Joe Cross documentary about a week ago and am so inspired with Joe and Phil that I went out and bought a Breville juicer. I have 150 pounds to lose, and I’m little overwhelmed with all this new information, and I just hope I can stay with it. Right now I’ve got a refrigerator full of produce, and a brand new juicer sitting on my counter for tomorrow morning. I hope I can do this – I really want to. I have an appointment with my doctor on Thursday, but didn’t want to wait until then to start. I’m taking BP and cholesterol-lowering medications, and want to get rid of both of them! I think I will juice for breakfast and dinner and have salad/veggies for lunch. That way, I will only have to bring one thermos full of juice for mid-morning and mid-afternoon snacks. I’ve read so much about how awful the first three days are, but I’m trying to keep a positive attitude – this is my choice to do this after all. And it’s my commitment. And I really want this to work. Wish me luck! And thanks everyone for being there! i really don’t have anyone to talk to about this that will even understand what I’m doing or what I’m going through.
Hi Nonni. I understand what you are going through. I noticed that you posting was from 2 months ago. I hope you were successful. I too have about 130 to lose and I know how overwhelming that is.
Hi Victoria. Im on day 3 of my reboot (juice only) Its going pretty good. I do have a concern though… Ive lost a little over 5 lbs already (im about 100 lbs over weight) now for my concern about 15 years ago i lost alot of weight quick. My hair started falling out and I don’t want that to happen again. I take a quality fish oil pill every night, its triple strenghth. what do you think? VickiLynn
Need to reboot my life.
I got terrible cramps during the 10 day reboot. My sister’s sodium level went low and her potassium level was high. What did we do wrong?
My husband and I just started today. I am doing a 10 day and he is going for 60 days. Can anyone share how they feel the first few days? Is diarrhea common? What about constipation? Thanks.
