Did you Reboot to lose weight? Yes
I was scrolling through netflix and stumbled upon Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead. It really resonated with me.
I have a child with muscular dystrophy and my wife has MS. My father died from a heart attack seven years ago at 71. I was determined that I not only needed to try to live longer, but live better, functionally better than my father did, so I can help my family as long as possible.
This Reboot really clicked. I stayed determined to not stop until I had a solid “after plan” in place. The longer I went, the more I was afraid to stop and return to “normal” eating. I had found success a few other times “rebooting” but had gained over half the weight back each time I stopped. I found the movie Forks over Knives, and the follow up to Fat, Sick & nearly Dead came out on Netflix during this most recent Reboot too, the timing was perfect. I was fed up with not being able to keep the weight off like Joe, so I dove head first into as much knowledge as I could find… staying plant-based was what I found and it has worked great for me.
My beginning weight when I saw FSND the first time was 266. My current weight is 185. Pant size was 44 and they were tight. Now I’m currently wearing 34’s comfortably! I’m planning another Reboot in January.
All together I have lost around 125 pounds Rebooting the past 3 winters. It was frustrating to gain the weight back after working so hard to lose it, so keeping the weight off became the ultimate goal.
I no longer have arthritis in my hands, I’m no longer pre-diabetic, and my cholesterol and all my numbers are fantastic.
Knowing what and how to eat when I was done Rebooting. I have failed many Reboots in the past too, so just finding success in the first place is difficult. It’s a mental game.
I juiced plants on the Reboot, now I eat plants. I keep learning as much as I can about health and nutrition.
It is life-changing, and it has given me a great experience to now help others as well.
