How did you learn about Reboot with Joe?
Greetings All – It was one year ago to the month, when I started a Reboot discussion forum topic and just after I was honored to be featured in September 2012 as the Reboot with Joe Success Story of the week.

Now I am 53 & still juicing! I have continued to lose weight and regain my health. I started with a 3-day reboot in Sept. 2011 after watching the documentary. I joined the old reboot website, then moved over to the new rebootwithjoe.com

What inspired you to do a Reboot?        
Phil Staples, and because I had become a walking statistic but wanted a natural holistic approach without the need for surgery, medications or invasive treatments.

How did the experience go for you?
During and after a 115 pound/52 kg weight loss, I consumed 2 – 3 16oz daily vegetable juices and continued to eat one plant-based meal in the evening with my family. I added fruit & oatmeal for breakfast, snacked on nuts, carrots & hummus and would often have my ‘fancy’ raw chocolaty energy beverage with almond milk or fruit sorbet for a treat.

I lost 145 pounds/65.8 kg in two years to date by eating and drinking vegetables.

I only bought veggies and plant-based whole grains, beans & legumes (similar to Dr. Fuhrman “Eat to Live”). I cleaned out my cupboards and cleaned up my life. This is the only lifestyle I have ever experienced which provided me with the benefits of no longer being ‘Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead’. I have made no excuses and experienced sustained extreme weight loss and regained my whole family’s health.

How much weight did you lose (even if that wasn’t your goal!)?             
As mentioned above, 145 pounds/65.8 kg in 2 years with daily vegetable juice, periodic 3-day Reboots, and eating one plant-based meal in the evening (sometimes snacks, fruit, oatmeal for breakfast).

Did you have any notable health or physical improvements?

Additionally, in the past year, my wife lost 35 pounds/15.8 kg and reversed a chronic debilitating bone / arthritis condition when we adopted daily vegetable juicing and whole foods plant-based eating lifestyle.

What was the toughest part about the Reboot experience?
Making the commitment to begin and persevering when there was doubt. Kicking the cravings, food additions and poor eating habits was the worst, but vegetable juicing really did ease the experience. Migrating to plant-based whole foods has been a simple challenge, but I did have a learning curve.

What habits have you maintained and kept a part of your everyday life?            
Vegetable juicing has been a daily essential. I have found that combining vegetable juicing with a plant-based whole food eating lifestyle has worked for extreme weight loss and optimum health – the results have been phenomenal and without the need for surgery, medications, or invasive treatments – no counting calories, no drowning in minutiae about what to eat or what not to eat. What is your lasting impression of the Reboot experience?
It propelled me to pursue a Certificate in Plant-based Nutrition from Cornell University and the T. Colin Campbell Foundation and expand my existing products & services to include Nutritional Wellness Lifestyle Medicine.

I found juicing to be an essential tool and a safety net to curb food addictions. Whenever I need a boost I can turn to vegetable juice to make me feel better.
