How to Use Apple Cider Vinegar on a Daily Basis

Apple cider vinegar is a true all-purpose wonder solution. Not only can it be taken internally for a long list of health benefits, but ACV also comes in handy for a variety of household, kitchen, pet and skincare uses.

To enjoy it for its internal benefits for weight loss, blood sugar support, improved cholesterol levels, digestive support for bloating, indigestion, flatulence, reflux, diarrhea, constipation, candida, immunity, arthritis, gallbladder health, detoxification, gut microbiome and more simply take one to two tablespoons in warm water 20-30 minutes before your meals.

Apple cider vinegar can be used for a variety of ailments:

  • Sore Throat: If you feel a little scratchy in the throat or feel a sense of discomfort then you can mix ¼ cup of ACV with ¼ cup of warm water and gargle every hour. ACV has naturally occurring anti-inflammatory compounds along with its natural anti-septic effects.
  • Bruises: ACV has been known to help reduce the severity of a bruise if dabbed on directly with a cotton bud or tissue, a few times a day, for a few days.
  • Foot Odor: Soak your feet in a tub of warm water with the addition of 1/3 cup of ACV and allow to soak for 20 minutes.
  • Bad breath (Halitosis): Gargle and swish 1-2 tablespoons of ACV in warm water around in the mouth for 10 seconds and spit the solution out, repeat until the cup is empty daily.
  • Toenail fungal infections: Apply the ACV on directly to the infected areas and repeat daily and include a foot soak.
  • Sunburn: Soak in a warm bath with the addition of 1 cup of ACV and relax for 15minutes. The ACV has an anti-inflammatory effect to the sun damage skin and tissue.

Skin Irritations and problems: Skin conditions include hives, itchy skin, acne, eczema and age spots. You can soak in a warm bath with the addition of 1 cup of ACV (add in some soothing nutritive essential oils such as chamomile and lavender, too). Or, mix 1 part ACV to 2 parts filtered water in a spritzer and spray directly on the skin or simply dab the solution on directly with cotton buds.

ACV makes for a great facial toner which you can do as instructed above. ACV is a natural astringent and supports a healthy natural skin pH and reduces inflammation, infections and other imbalances. If you have particularly sensitive skin, test a skin area on your inner wrist and/or dilute the ACV by a further 50 percent so that your mixture is of 1 part ACV to 4 parts water.

Stings and Bites: Insect stings and bites can be helped with some on hand ACV. The acid from the vinegar helps to neutralise the toxins in the venom. Simply dab it on the area repeatedly.

Warts: Dabbing ACV directly onto warts and covering with a plaster can help to destroy the wart. Do this for a few weeks daily.

Natural Deodorant: Due to ACV helping to support a healthier skin pH level, it can help to kill the bacteria that cause body odour. Spray undiluted ACV directly under the arms daily.

Shiny Hair: ACV can also be used to reduce dandruff along with increasing the healthy sheen of your hair. After you have shampooed your hair,  rinse with 1 part ACV to 1 part water and leave for on for 10 minutes before rinsing again. You can do this twice a week.

Whiter Teeth: Gargle and swish 1-2 tablespoons of ACV in ½ cup of warm water around in the mouth for 10 seconds and spit the solution out. Repeat until the cup is empty, then brush your teeth as normal.

Not only is it good for your body but it makes for a great household cleaner and sanitizer, too!

Washing Clothes: Pouring vinegar on stains and throwing in ½ cup in with your normal wash can help remove grime, stains and lint from your washing.

Surface Cleaner: ACV is a very effective anti-microbial so it can be used to help keep surfaces hygienic. You can clean an area with 1 part ACV to 1 part water — add a few drops of your favorite essential oil for a nice smell.

Furniture Polish: Mix 1 part vegetable oil to 1 part ACV to make a wonderful and very effective wood cleaner and polish.

Fruit and Vegetable Wash: Soaking fruits and vegetables in 1 part vinegar and 3 parts water can reduce and kill microbes found on fresh fruits and vegetables.

Pet Care: Fight fleas on dogs by diluting ACV water as a final leave in rinse. Or, mix a 1 part solution of apple cider vinegar together with 1 part water and soak your pet in a tub or use as a leave-in spray.
