These days, I find alot of people talk about how spending too much time sitting down in front of a computer may be bad for our health, but does technology get a bit of a bad wrap? It hit me today, we have an amazing online community from all around the world all focused on one goal – to improve our health. All made possible by online tools like the Join The Reboot website, Facebook & Twitter.
The stories of commitment, struggle, perseverance & success inspire me to push myself to do better and to live a healthier life. It inspires me to see strangers helping each other with their journey. They aren’t being paid to do it, they aren’t obliged to answer questions or share their stories, but they do. I think contributions like this are so important to keep you motivated.
In this post I want to focus on finding inspiration for your Reboot journey online.
TED Talks
TED is a conference about ‘ideas worth spreading’. From health to psychology, TED brings together the worlds biggest thinkers and most respected industry professionals to talk about the topics that matter. There are literally hundreds of inspirational speeches available on the TED website. I would highly recommend watching a few videos from the health section – like this one which explores how people who live in certain areas that embrace nature, eat mainly plant based foods and incorporate exercise in to their daily lives, live longer. https://www.ted.com/talks/lang/en/dan_buettner_how_to_live_to_be _100.html
Reboot Community
As I mentioned in the introduction. The Reboot Community is full of inspiration. On the Join The Reboot website there are fantastic groups talking about an array of topics within the Reboot journey. I personally love the group – Inspiration For Your Journey. The new Join The Reboot website that will be launching soon will have even more functionality over the current website.
There is also a lot of inspirational content on the Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead Facebook page. I love reading updates from Rebooters as they share their journey day by day. Ask questions of fellow Rebooters and find support within the community. Someone always has an answer!
On Twitter, use and search the hashtag #FatSickAndNearlyDead to join the Reboot conversation, it is quickly becoming a fantastic source of inspiration.
Video Blogs
There is nothing more inspiring than real stories shared in the first person and video blogging lends its self nicely to this. Search YouTube for ‘Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead’, ‘Reboot Your Life’, ‘Join the Reboot’, ‘Juice fast’ & ‘Joe Cross’. You will find dozens of video blogs (journals) by Rebooters sharing their story.
These are my favourite ways of finding inspiration. I would love to know what inspires you!
