At Age 27, Joel Has Lost 100 Pounds & Isn’t Slowing Down

Name: Joel Alexander Leyton
Age: 27
Location: Atlanta, GA
Reboot:  14 days so far but still in process! (Started eating raw foods in August 2012)
What Health Issues apply to you? Obesity

How did you learn about Reboot with Joe?
I had seen FSND once but never complete until I started investigating on my own time what next step I was going to take in my weight loss journey. In August 2012 I started incorporating raw foods into my diet and have lost 80 lbs since. But I needed a next step, so I saw FSND and my life was changed.

What inspired you to do a Reboot?
More than just losing the weight, I wanted to be healthy. In the example of what Joe Cross used to have on his skin I thought to myself, it would work for me in different areas of my life and not just obesity. His story captivated me and I was glued to the documentary and the web for answers.

How did the experience go for you?
I have done 14 days so far and I couldn’t feel any better. I am a firm believer that if I did this to myself, I too should take it off and this Reboot has been great. On the 10th day of juicing I felt addicted to it, I could not let go of my Breville Juicer! I didn’t have a scale to weigh myself and see how much I lost but will in April. But I can tell you that my clothes are falling down.

How much weight did you lose (even if that wasn’t your goal!)?
My mom says I have lost at least 20 pounds, she says you can really tell. For people like me it’s hard to tell if it’s changed because you see the same body but she said yes, you definitely lost weight.

Did you have any notable health or physical improvements?
YES! My feet retained a lot of water and now the color has changed to my original skin color, you can tell my nails are healthier and my toes aren’t as chubby as they were. My energy level is up, I wake up ready to start the day. I have a mass that formed because of my previous weight drop and I feel it lighter.

What was the toughest part about the Reboot experience?
The toughest part would have to be not eating. A baby is born to drinking fluids for the first year or so but then little by little they start eating, using their teeth and it’s been a while since I have been a baby and only drinking milk. So I see it as something positive — your taste buds reset, you give your mouth and tongue a break.

What habits have you maintained and kept a part of your everyday life?
Right now I will continue to juice for the next 6 months — I will juice all day long during the week days and eat healthy, light plant-based meals on the weekends because I have a goal. I DRINK A LOT OF WATER! It’s very important to consume.

What is your lasting impression of the Reboot experience?
If it worked for me it can work for anybody! I have a theory that has stuck in my head since I started seeing the changes — why wouldn’t our bodies heal with fruits and raw vegetables if they all come from the same place we did, DIRT!!!! Juice On my friends.
