Bobby Reached Under 300 Lbs for the First Time in 16 Years

Name: Bobby Brennan
Location: Florida & New York
Age
: 39
Reboot: 60 days

I’m 39 years old, come from a Irish/Italian Loud, fun Catholic family. I’m a professional musician, bass player in NYC and Orlando. I’ve worked on various broadway shows, Cirque du Soleil, and various artists throughout the world.

One evening after a performance, my best friend, Michael, with whom I work for, came into my hotel room and sat me down to tell me that he and the rest of the band were very scared about my health.  At this time I was nearly 500lbs. There were a lot of great performances we were going to be doing in the future and he just wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to do this type of traveling. Even at my highest weight, I always was able to get through performances, and always played well.  But, the “after” part of packing up and loading my equipment into the car took a real toll on me.  I was out of breath often, having severe back pains.  I couldn’t walk more than a block before my back went into pins and needles. To this very day I LOVE that Michael did this for me, because I truly believe he SAVED MY LIFE in that conversation. The next day we flew home and I thought so much about what I needed to do to get my health and life back in order.  I decided to join Weight Watchers.  I’m a big fan of Weight Watchers because they taught me the right way of eating, as far as portion control, types of foods, etc.  I had great success with WW. Then, I was introduced to Isagenix. I’m sure you have heard of it. Their program teaches you how to cleanse one or two days a week, and then the other days drinking their protein shakes and eating a healthy meal. I love their products. From cleansing with that program, I believe that is one of the reasons I’m having an easier time with the Reboot because of being used to cleansing. I did great with the weight loss and I got into better shape. I trained with trainers, walked 5 miles a day, just became more active and most importantly, I felt great!  And I definitely made a dent into my new lifestyle change!

This past December I felt stuck.  I needed something new to try. I wanted to go into 2014 setting some serious goals for myself, both physically, musically, and mentally. My friend, Mike, called and asked me, “Have you seen Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead?”  I said, “no.” He said, “WATCH IT!!”  I went onto Netflix and I watched it and I LOVED IT!! I laughed, cried, and got so motivated!! When I saw Phil running at the end with that shirt on him that finally fit him, that is when I said to myself, ” I’m gonna do this!!” By my next birthday I’m going to be in the most amazing shape of my life, which will be October 10th, when I will turn 40.  I started January 10th through the 20th with my Nutribullet. I didn’t feel like I was getting the right Reboot using the Nutribullet since that blends the fruits and veggies, it doesn’t juice them. I lost some weight but not as much as I thought I could have.  I also felt bloated and just uncomfortable. So I stopped that. I then ordered the Breville Juicer and had it shipped to Florida.

On February 3rd, my new journey began. I was so happy that I didn’t eat a fattening meal before beginning. I almost did, but I thought it would hurt me. It would’ve definitely hurt me. Day 1= Ok, Day 2= Oh, man!, Day 3= I hate this, I hate this feeling!!, Day 4= Wow, I’m getting some serious energy!, and Day 5= My body said, “You win, we get what you’re doing.”

I woke up every morning and went to the farmers market and bought tons of veggies and fruits. On top of juicing 60 days I worked my butt off in the gym, and was also practicing my bass, as well as performing the musical Disenchanted (8 shows a week). I didn’t tell many I was doing this because I wasn’t sure how good I was going to do. But I KICKED ASS AND I DID IT!

Over the 60 days of juicing I lost 71.2 lbs/32 kg and 23.5 inches/60 cm. And for the first time in 16 years I weighed in below 300lbs. I was monitored by a doctor the whole time. My blood work came back the best its ever been. My doctor was shocked about how much had changed in 60 days. To make this even cooler, I got to meet Joe Cross on day 30 at a seminar he did in Orlando during his Reboot with Joe Juice Diet Book Tour. That hang with Joe was a huge impact on me and my health journey, and such a motivation to do those next 30 days.

On top of all of this, I entered a weight loss challenge at my gym for 6 weeks out of the 8 I was juicing, actually my first day of eating again was the last day I could weigh in. Anyway, I won the contest and 2500 bucks! Juicers are always asking if they can workout during a Reboot, and I’m sure it’s different for everyone, but I kicked my own ass during this Reboot, haha. I never ever lacked energy and felt great getting to them gym. Here I am with my winnings!

Thank you to all my friends, and family. Thanks to all my musician friends. A big Thank you to Orangetheory Fitness Clearwater for pushing me every single day to help me achieve my goals.
