Tanya Reboots 105 Days to Avoid Gastric Bypass Surgery

Name: Tanya
Age: 45
Location: Queens, NY
Reboot: Juice only for 105 days

What Health Issues apply to you?
Arthritis, High Blood Pressure, Migraines, Obesity

How did you learn about Reboot with Joe?
I first heard of the movie through my physical therapist and it took another 2 months before I actually watched the movie and then my life changed for the better.

What inspired you to do a Reboot?
I had a meniscal tear with osteoarthritis in my knee that had me walking with a cane. My doctor and the orthopedic doctor suggested Gastric Bypass as a way to lose weight and take the pressure off of my knee. I have never had any surgery and for me that wasn’t an option I was willing to accept. Thanks to being introduced to Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead it never happened.

How did the experience go for you?
I took it one day at a time and ended up Rebooting for 105 days. It wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be. I just concentrated on my goal and what I wanted to achieve.

How much weight did you lose (even if that wasn’t your goal!)?
I have lost 84 lbs./38 kg. to date and have another 70 lbs./32 kg. to go until I reach my goal weight.

Did you have any notable health or physical improvements?
I went from a size 24 to a size 16.

I no longer suffer from migraines.

My knee pain has let up and I am starting to power walk again.

My feet/ankles no longer swell and aren’t constantly hot all the time.

My blood pressure has dropped to a normal range 110/70.

What was the toughest part about the Reboot experience?
The toughest part besides the fruit flies was not buying too much fruit and veggies at one time. My refrigerator is not that big. LOL!

What habits have you maintained and kept a part of your everyday life?
Juicing will always be a part of my life! I love all the different veggies and fruits that I’ve found that I never knew existed. I now look for farmers’ markets and juice bars instead of hitting the deli for a snickers bar.

What is your lasting impression of the Reboot experience?
I have met so many supportive people on the Reboot site. It is an extended family. I love passing along the story of my success to anyone who will listen.
