“Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead” – what a difference a year makes

April 1st marks the 12 month anniversary of the theatrical premiere of “Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead”.  While my Reboot journey began well before the film came out, these past 12 months have been life-changing for me.  Since wrapping and releasing FSND, I’ve dedicated myself wholeheartedly to the mission of improving health and quality of life through the consumption of fruits and vegetables.  Every day when I check in at www.rebootwithjoe.com or on our Facebook page, I am reminded of why I’ve made this commitment. It is all about: your stories, your journeys, your renewed spirits, your rejuvenated health and Your Rebooted Lives!  We are so proud of our community of 300,000 strong and honored to have you with us ... Community Garden – To The Max!

Sure, we all love community gardens and local food sources, but this proposed “food forest” in Seattle takes the concept to a whole new level.   www.Good.is shared this story which got our hearts fluttering and mouths salivating.   “Imagine if your neighborhood park doubled as a communal orchard. Out of fruit in the fridge? Just stroll down the block and pluck the first ripe pear you see. It may sound like a hippie fantasy, but residents of Seattle’s Beacon Hill neighborhood could soon be living that dream, with a community group planning to break ground on the country’s largest “food forest” this summer.”   What are your thoughts on communal forests or farms? Have you heard of any ... Continue

February Group Reboot – Day 5 Reflections

Congratulations February Rebooters – today is day 5! Great job to everyone and I sincerely hope you are feeling a sense of accomplishment, pride and experiencing fantastic physical and mental health. Each time I Reboot I learn something new about my relationship with food and who I am as an eater. Being a nutritionist I think, talk and write about food all the time. But still, I am always surprised at what I discover while on a Reboot. Reflecting on the Reboot experience is helpful to uncover lessons learned or personal discovery and consider how to apply this in everyday life. The Reboot is a time where we put ourselves into a more mindful eating space. Mindfulness is emerging as ... Continue

The Golden Rule

Can’t we all just get along?   That’s the question I’m asking of all health minded foodies today. I don’t know about you, but I’ve been noticing a trend of I’m right, you’re wrong these days when it comes to what we put on our plate.   Food is very personal. I totally get it. There’s a natural tendency to feel defensive when we hear someone else espouse a different dietary philosophy than our own.   I also understand the desire to “convert” others to our own way of thinking. After all, if I feel like how I’m eating can help other people, and even the world at large, then it’s natural that I’d want to share that information. ... Continue
