This juice is a great dessert juice or a fruity start to the day. After spotting heritage yellow carrots at the market, I knew they would be a nice addition to this juice to enhance the color and flavor. The added spices also give this juice an extra kick with a pop of flavor.

I have been experimenting with the Breville Juice Fountain Crush Slow Juicer and have had some fun making homemade nut milks! A couple weeks ago, I shared my recipe for Homemade Almond Milk, but this week I took it up a notch and experimented with hazelnuts. I was overly delighted with the results. Not only did I have delicious nut milk in my fridge for the week to enjoy and use in smoothies, but I also had the leftover pulp from the hazelnuts that I made into a raw dessert (stay tuned for that recipe!).

Cinnamon Apple & Butternut Squash (Australian Butternut Pumpkin) Juice

Ingredients 4 cups butternut squash (Australian butternut pumpkin) 1 large organic honeycrisp apple dash cinnamon   Directions Wash apple and squash (Australian butternut pumpkin) well. Peel squash (Australian butternut pumpkin) and cut into chunks. Cut apple to fit into chute of juicer. Juice. Pour over ice. Sprinkle cinnamon on top of juice.

Garam Masala Spiced Collard Greens (Australian Cabbage Leaves) – Veggie Dish

Ingredients 2 bunches Collard Greens (Australia: Cabbage Leaves), ribs removed and chopped (about 2 lbs.) 1 1/2 tsp. Garam Masala* 1 tsp. Turmeric 4 tbsp Grape Seed Oil or Olive Oil 2 tbsp Mustard Seed Oil 1 tsp. Sea Salt or Himalayan Salt 6 tbsp fresh Cilantro, chopped (Australia: Coriander)   Directions Heat a large saucepan or Dutch oven over medium high heat. Add the garam masala and turmeric and heat until fragrant, about 2 minutes, stirring to make sure that the spices do not burn. Maple & Cinnamon Baked Apples and Pears – Dessert

Ingredients 2 large hard Pears or Apples (Fuji, Rome, Pippin, Granny Smith or Jonathan work great) 2 tsp. Pure Maple Syrup or Agave 3 tsp. water 1/4 tsp. Cinnamon 1 tbsp Raisins   Directions Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Slice off the tops of the apples or pears and set aside. With a small knife or apple corer, hollow out a 1” cylinder in the center of each apple, being careful not to poke through to the bottom. If you are using a paring knife, you might need to make the initial cut and then use a spoon to dig out the core. In a small bowl, whisk together the next three ingredients. Apple Peach Bake – Dessert

Ingredients 4 Peaches, sliced (remove pit) 2 Apples chopped 3 tbsp Raisins–- Figs are a great substitution 1 tbsp Cinnamon (or more to taste)   Directions Spray baking dish with canola oil Mix all ingredients in a bowl then place into oven safe baking dish and cover. Bake at 375 degrees for 45 minutes or until apples are soft. Cool and enjoy!

Cherry Cinnamon Apple Bake – Dessert

Ingredients 1 cup Cherries (cut and discard pit) 2 Apples cored and chopped 3 tbsp Raisins (choose golden variety for a twist) 1 tbsp Cinnamon (or more to taste) 1/2 tsp. Nutmeg   Direction Spray baking dish with expeller pressed canola oil. Place into oven safe baking dish and cover. Bake at 375 degrees for 45 minutes or until apples are soft. Cool and enjoy!
