Minty Citrus Juice – Recipe Of The Week

Citrus fruit has a high content of anti-oxidants and nutrients such as folic acid, potassium, vitamin C, flavonoids and hesperetin to name a few. A single orange contains more than 170 different phytonutrients. Citrus has been shown to strengthen the immune system due to this particular list of nutrients. The nutrient content found in oranges may provide protection against cancer-causing free radicals and may help to boost immune system function.

Scientific evidence suggests that the polyphenols found in oranges may help keep your brain active and they are the richest fruit source of the antioxidant hesperetin, which protects cells as we age.

Mint is very beneficial for the digestive system, reducing any inflammation or irritability experienced in IBS, and it aids discomfort and bloating.
