High Cholesterol

Did you Reboot to lose weight?
Yes

How did you learn about Reboot with Joe?
I saw FSND on Netflix and it got me interested. Then I watched it a second time and thought I would give it a try.

What inspired you to do a Reboot?
In November last year I lost my job, nearly lost my house and started to smoke and drink heavily. I ate junk food daily and was a mess. I was put on a high dose of depression medication, Mirtazapine, to help me sleep but it worked too well and I was sleeping until 9/10am. Earlier this year I picked myself up a bit, started my own business and things started looking up but my health was still a mess. After watching FSND I thought it was about time to do something about it.

How did the experience go for you?
Well I decided to do everything at once: I stopped smoking, stopped my medication and started the Reboot. The first few days were a real struggle; I didn’t think I would make it but on day 5 I woke up early like I used to at 5:30am full of energy so I went to the gym and did a workout, came home and felt amazing. I did fall off the juicing wagon on day 13 with some junk food but it didn’t agree with me and I found I craved juice.  As a punishment to keep me incentivized, I decided to sign up for a half marathon on the 26th of October. I started a training program for the rest of the 28 days. Once I finished the Reboot I continued juicing twice a day and eating mostly raw, healthy meals.

How much weight did you lose (even if that wasn’t your goal!)?
I started weighing in at 200 lbs/91 kg, and at the end of the Reboot I weighed 176 lbs/80 kg. Now I weigh a healthy 170 lbs/77 kg.

Did you have any notable health or physical improvements?
Where do I start?  I stopped smoking with ease after trying for 20 years, when I started the marathon training I could manage 3 miles with an average mile of 10:50 per mile. Last Sunday I ran 10.2 miles at a pace of 9:15 per mile. I no longer take medication for my depression or insomnia, I sleep a good 6 – 8 hours and love getting up at 5 – 6am to go running or to the gym. My rather large beer gut has disappeared.

What was the toughest part about the Reboot experience?
The first 4 days were the toughest thing I have ever done in my life, and finding juices I liked.

What habits have you maintained and kept a part of your everyday life?
I juice every day and eat a healthy balanced meal, I no longer crave junk food or alcohol or nicotine. At 44 I am in the best physical shape of my life and wake up every day knowing it with a smile on my face. I will do a juice-only Reboot at least once every three months and encourage others to join me.

What is your lasting impression of the Reboot experience?
It has changed my life completely. I talk about it to others and have inspired lots of friends and family to try as they have seen the results in the flesh with myself.
