What an 85-Pound Weight Loss Feels Like Mentally

Welcome to my world, I am Scott Jacobs and what I am about to share with you in my opinion is the largest kept secret in the world. It helped me reclaim my health, my life and an inner peace that I have not had in 52 years. Had I known about this years ago, I could have evaded many of life’s pitfalls and painful situations. My life choices and lack of knowledge and wisdom resulted in a 325 pound unhappy depressed and physically failing human being. One of my mentors, Dr Robert O Young, refers to it as the pH Miracle and says it is Alkalizing love; Development of self first priority. I believe this is a necessary and key ingredient for every human being and a priority to be taught to every child in the world. It would alleviate so much self destruction in our world and we would move from striving to thriving!

Awakened Out of Suffering
It has been said that the greatest souls are awakened out of suffering. In my case that could not be any more accurate. When you look in the mirror everyday and really do not like who is staring back at you, it becomes easy to comfort yourself with the nearest culinary delight that begins to cloud and dull all your senses. It provides and becomes a short term fix to life’s daily problems, only to result in a much worse outcome in the end. I look back now and think, “If I had only known then, what I know now how different things could have been”.

My Desire to Change
My weight loss started in 2009. When for the first time I ballooned to 317 pounds. I was suffering from so many elements that I finally decided to read Kevin Trudeau’s book, “Natural Cures”. It opened my eyes enough to encourage me to make some changes that got some results. I was eating high levels of protein and low level carbs and walking every day. The thing is, I was feeling better physically because I was losing some of the uncomfortable fat. Mentally I was still clouded and unclear and struggling because I found it hard dealing with the emotional connection to food and my daily stress.

What I didn’t understand then, is that stress was directly and indirectly contributing to my weight gain in more ways than one. You see not only was the acidic food and beverages I was consuming creating unwanted weight gain but so were my thoughts, feelings, emotions, beliefs and habitual patterns of points of view. The good thing is that when we know better we can begin to do better and this is what I was banking on. I knew deep down that I could do better. I just didn’t know how. The other thing I have learned is that when you truly desire a change, the way shows up and it’s up to us to be courageous and take the first step. And so it began for me.

The Initial Weight Loss Journey
Initially, I did lose 107 pounds but I was living on the edge of failure all the time. All it took was a two week vacation to Hawaii and I gained back 24 pounds in 16 days and it was all downhill from there. I still craved sweets and I still craved meat. However great the initial changes were, they were unsustainable as a lifestyle. It did not do anything to change my physical cravings nor help me to understand my emotional connection to food.

So ultimately I gained all the weight back plus another 8 pounds to be me now at 325lbs. I was now even heavier than when I had begun this diet. However, the bonus to all of this is that I did develop an insatiable need for information. I couldn’t stop reading books. I wanted to know everything about the body and what I could do to truly change my health. I now knew it was possible. I just had to find what was sustainable and what would work for my lifestyle.

I picked up a book called, “Fats that Heal and Fats that Kill”, by Udo Erasmus. I read the whole book in two days. It was fascinating. The information I gained from this book has been essential in my learning curve. It helped me to learn about good fats and bad fats and what to stop putting in my body. Though more importantly what to start putting into my body to reclaim my vitality.

Finding Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead
I believe it is true that we have an impact on the people that cross our path. The next pivotal point on my journey was August 11th 2014. I was visiting a friend and colleague, Corrine Brandi. Corrine now works with me in the health industry and is a former colleague of Dr. Robert Young. Just before we started our meeting Corrine said to me, “I want you to watch this movie”. The movie was “Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead”, by Joe Cross. I only made it halfway through the movie before I said, “I am doing exactly what he did for 60 days.”

Moving into Action
Joe Cross was so inspiring. He moved me into action. I now had all of Joe’s information plus I had an added bonus, Corrine! She was the perfect person to initiate me into the next level of my healing. She had worked with Dr Robert O Young on his book, “The pH Miracle for Weight Loss”. So that morning we made a plan to change my health for the better. What I did not know was how much it would begin to change everything else about me.

I started the 60 day liquid green juice cleanse. We added in some healthy fats such as avocado, coconut oil, Udos oil 3,6,9 blend and  some key supplement products to build new healthy blood and to boost my immune system as well as improving my circulatory system. I was thrilled. I also connected with a local health practitioner, Dr. Thom Bober. He monitored my success the whole way by measuring my BMI (body mass index) as well as my weight and life vital signs. This support assured me I was going in the right direction.  I began living my plan of action over the next 60 days.

By day 4 I was feeling horrible!  Between the sugar withdrawals, the headaches and nausea, I didn’t think I could have felt much worse! Plus I was so hungry I could have eaten a couch cushion. Now by the end of the fourth day I felt so horrible I was ready to give up.  And then “that” moment that changed everything happened. I had to make a trip to the men’s room. What came out of me at that point was startling. I thought someone had dumped a gallon of roofing tar in the toilet. I could not believe that toxic mess had come out of me. I later found out it was called a liver dump and it happened every 3 or 4 days for a month. What I failed to mention was I was having severe liver pain before I started this program and I had not said anything to anyone. I was keeping it a secret out of fear of finding out something horrible.

I truly believe that I had not done this cleanse I would have developed much greater problems. My symptoms were all signs of greater things developing. I am happy to say that now I have no pain in my liver whatsoever and my liver is metabolising like it did when I was younger.

A Bonus besides Weight Loss
About halfway through the cleanse I experienced something quite unexpected to me. It was a completely unexpected spiritual and emotional aspect of this cleanse. I had a feeling of knowing, of total clarity. It brought tears to my eyes and gave me a profound feeling of love for myself, one like I have never known. This “breakthrough” enabled me to love everything and everyone on a whole new level. I could feel the intensity throughout my whole being. I started viewing myself, others and my environment with fresh new perspective.

Losing weight was an excellent part of this alkalizing experience and I have more to go. It is definitely a by-product of healthy choices. But the most incredible changes have all come from the inside; a new way of thinking, a new way of loving and a new way of being. Yes, I have lost 85 pounds so far. It’s not so much of what I have lost but more about what I have gained.

What I Gained
I have gained love for myself and for life. The joy and happiness that fills me up now is like one I have never known. It’s a real inner peace that makes my brain tingle with excitement for the future. This brings me to my next learning curve. I met Donna Porteous, a pH Nutrtional Microscopist and LifeStyle Coach and one of Dr. Robert Young’s trained experts on alkalizing and how to truly live the alkaline lifestyle. She has helped me work through so many of the issues on many levels along the way. Donna has guided me through some of the hardest parts associated with this new found feeling of alkalizing, love, joy, appreciation for myself.

This is now a lifestyle for me and not a diet. It has changed my world. I have heard it said that the most impressive personalities endures many scars. Now I know beyond first hand that those scars can all be healed by alkalizing. I have so much gratitude and appreciation for my mentors and this lifestyle. If there is one suggestion I could make; is that our life is an accumulation patterns or habits. We develop them and then live them consciously and unconsciously. They may not always be supporting us in the highest and best way. I suggest to look inside you and around you and ask, “do I like what I see and feel”? If your answer is “no”, than beginning making small positive changes, which over time leads to monumental growth.
