After 30 Years of Arthritis Pain, I’ve Finally Found Euphoria

Name: Beryl Pitzey
Age: 68
Location: Kent, England

Reboot: 5-5-5 (5 days eating fruits and vegetables, followed by 5 days juice only, then 5 days eating fruits and vegetables)

What Health Issues apply to you? Arthritis

Did you Reboot to lose weight? No

How did you learn about Reboot with Joe?
From watching Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead.

What inspired you to do a Reboot?
The precise moment was when trucker Phil was told he could reduce his methotrexate tablets. I have been on that drug since 1990 (25yrs) and my dosage had been steadily increased to 22mg per week – which just like Joe’s steroids, they were only containing my rheumatoid arthritis not curing it.

How did the experience go for you?
I did suffer two days of excruciating migraine type headaches followed by the feeling of ice cold steel poles in my legs but these didn’t last long. I followed Joe’s recipes so I never got hungry.

How much weight did you lose (even if that wasn’t your goal!)?
About 1 1/2 stone (20 lbs/9kg).

Did you have any notable health or physical improvements?
Straight away the pain in my joints started to ease. I no longer felt exhausted doing the simplest of tasks. Not only could I roll over in bed for the first time in years but I no longer needed the electronic lowering/raising device to get in and out too. My walking notably improved and I felt revitalised.

What was the toughest part about the Reboot experience?
Just the initial migraines and achy legs. Then the euphoria set in and I never looked back.

What habits have you maintained and kept a part of your everyday life?
I only drink water, fruit and herbal teas. I only snack on raw nuts, dried fruit and seeds. I eat the rainbow in every meal. I eat very little diary. I have a fruit juice every morning and a vegetable juice at least once every third day. I have spread the world of juicing and got friends on board who too are reaping the benefits from it. But my biggest habit now is being found saying out loud, “Thank you Joe!” When I achieve something I haven’t been able to do for years 🙂

What is your lasting impression of the Reboot experience?
The Reboot experience has given me back my life and a future that I never expected to have. I can now participate in family life, I have been to places I’d never imagined I could visit and I’ve evolved into ‘fun Nanny’ now to my granddaughter. I want everyone to feel as good as I do. Joe is so right when he says you lose the feeling of worth – in my case 30 years of pain had robbed me of a desire to love, let alone try to be positive, but as I’ve become healthier so has my self-esteem. Unfortunately, my joint damage is unrepairable but I have been officially declared in RA remission by my rheumatologist and I have had my methotrexate reduced with the view of being methotrexate free in the future. I am spreading the word that all RA sufferers should Reboot as early as possible to prevent the damage and let the body fight the disease instead of taking years of medication.
