Oregano in a Juice? Yes!

This juice is a delicious blend of fruit, vegetable and herbs. The peppers and apples are in-season and make for a delicious base while the added herb, oregano, makes for a delicious addition that gives it a satisfying, savory flavor.
Herbs and spices contain potent phytonutrients (plant-based nutrients) and a host of other nutrients such as antioxidants, making them a healthy but unique addition to your juices.

The highlight of this juice? You guessed it. Oregano: Traditionally found in Mediterranean cooking and cuisine, contains rosmarinic acid that has been found to be potentially beneficial to immunity. Additionally, oregano contains compounds called carvacol and thymol that contain potent antimicrobial benefits. Lastly, oregano also contains anti-inflammatory properties that may be beneficial to combating arteriosclerosis and metabolic syndrome.

Ingredients

  • 1 apple
  • 1 large green bell pepper (capsicum)
  • 1in (2.5 cm_ piece of fresh ginger
  • 1 sprig fresh oregano or 1/4 tsp dried oregano for garnish

Directions

1. Wash all produce well.

2. Add all ingredients through juicer* and enjoy.

*If you are using dried oregano, add it to the top of your juice at the end.
