In the Reboot Kitchen: Green Monkey Peanut Butter Smoothie

I absolutely love this smoothie. It’s become one of my go-to’s for breakfast but I’ve also found myself making it for me and my roommates as a healthy dessert! It’s packed with healthy proteins and nutritious greens, and it tastes like candy (a Reese’s Pieces to be exact). I always add as many greens as possible to pump up the nutrients and it never takes away from the delicious peanut butter flavor.
Ingredients:
1 6 kale leaves (or more!)
1 cup almond milk
1 cup coconut water
1 handful of spinach
1 banana (frozen if desirable)
1 Tbsp. natural peanut butter
1 Tbsp. hemp seeds
ice, as needed
Directions:
1.) Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth, about 45 – 60 seconds.
2.) Serve in two glass and enjoy.

I don’t have hemp seeds, is there something else that can be used?

Does anyone know what the Hemp and Chia add to this drink?
I used a bit of flax seed, since i dont have chia or hemp on hand, omg this is heaven, especially if u want to feel full. although I dont find it as sweet as I originally thought, but i guess thts a good thing. ive rebooted before, and it went ok, but im going for the full 60. this is day 2, only a bit of a headache yesterday.. nothing today JUICE ON!

I have been told that because I am hypothyroid I should not have too many raw juices that contain goitrogens like Kale/spinach/collard greens etc..I occasionally “breakdown” and have a “green smoothie” however does anyone have ideas on what green smoothies someone with hypothyroidism can enjoy?
Hi Janine – I, too, have hypothyroidism and I’ve recently completed a 15 day guided reboot. You can safely have spinach, celery, cucumbers, zucchini, romaine and other leafy green lettuces.
Jessica-i’m starting 15 day guided reboot tomorrow-just curious what you would say average weight loss was for your reboot group for the 15 days?
I didn’t do a guided juice fast but on my own for 15 days and I lost 11 pounds. Good Luck with you reboot!

Why do you have to restrict kale?
I have it too! Why can’t you have green juices?

You can just throw in 1/4 cup of almonds, peanuts, cashews, etc. with the milk/water to give you more choices than just peanut butter. Then blend the rest! Also, did you mean 6 kale leaves, not 16?

Tried this today and it was awesome loved it, I used Chia seeds instead of hemp seeds, this will be my go-to breakfast drink after a run
My husband and I started 3 Day Reboot today. We have been Vegan for two years but lately we have been gaining weight and our pants got tight. After watching Joe’s show, we decided to get the juicer. Starting weights are 170.2for me and 173.8 for my husband. If we feel fine after 3 days, we might go longer. I have a half marathon this Saturday and bike race on Sunday so curious to know how my energy level would be.
just starting the “juice thing” lol my question is..what size should your juice be..8 ounce? 16 ounce? how many of these a day should I be consuming,
would also like a recipe for a energizing drink? something to start out the day!
today is day 6 for me, and for some reason I feel so unmotivated. I haven’t even lost an inch. I wonder if anyone here knows why? am I doing something wrong? Should I stop and start over? Honestly I can go for a nice salad right now. around 4 pm everyday I start to crash, what am i doing wrong? which recipes are better to follow for optimal weight loss.????? not really feeling the whole juicing thing now.

Love this smoothie! I added spinach, chia seeds, flaxseed meal, almond milk, banana and a little bit of smucker’s natural peanut butter (no salt). It is so good! If you want a creamier and thicker smoothie, add a avocado or another banana.
