Joe’s Juicing His Mean Green in the Philippines

Today is my 47th birthday and I am feeling super lucky to be spending it in the Philippines where I’m currently launching Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead. I’ve learned a lot while being here, and one of the most exciting things is finding out how much they LOVE juicing! I had a blast on the Morning Show with host Bernadeth Serbrano and host of the cooking segment Winnie Cordero. I typically make my favorite Mean Green Juice when I travel to different countries but the Philippines doesn’t have the same fruits and veggies readily available as other parts of the world so we came up with a Mean Green “Philippines Style” Juice! If camote tops and malunggay are available in your area then try it out. And if not, you can always make my Mean Green Juice!

Joe’s Mean Green Philippine Style
Ingredients:
2-3 handfuls of camote tops
2-3 handfuls of malunggay
1 cucumber
2 celery stalks
1 green apple
1/2 lemon, peeled
Small piece of ginger root (1”/2.5cm), peeled

The image above shows me making it on the Morning Show. It was a hit!

Here’s another shot of me on set at the Morning Show…

My new friends in the Philippines gave me this delicious fruit basket for my birthday!

Thank you to all my friends in the Philippines for a great time. Juice on!
