In the Reboot Kitchen: SuperGreens Smoothie

We love a good green juice, but we also like to switch it up and drink green smoothies. Drinking smoothies packed with tremendous amounts of greens is a great way to increase nutrients in your diet.  In one smoothie, you can consume up to 3 cups of dark leafy greens, which is more than some people consume in one week!

Just blending up greens and water in a blender doesn’t sound too appetizing, so we found a way to really enjoy it by making it sweet and creamy. The only “sweeteners” we used were an apple and banana.

*A high-powered blender will guarantee a smooth finish. If your blender is not high-powered then you may have small bits of kale and spinach leaves left in your smoothie. It will still taste good but you might have to chew it!

Ingredients

  • 1-2 cups spinach
  • 2 kale leaves, remove stems
  • 1 red apple
  • 1 banana
  • 1 cup (250 ml) coconut water
  • 1 cup (250 ml) almond milk
  • Ice cubes

Directions

  1. Wash produce well.
  2. Add ingredients to high-powered* blender and blend for at least one minute, until smooth.
  3. Serve and enjoy.
