My husband and I are doing the classic fast. We are on day three of eating veggies and fruit, though I am continuing to eat protein as I might be pregnant (so I’m not really doing a full on fast). We aren’t doing the fast to lose weight, but to hopefully help my husbands body heal from some uncomfortable digestive issues and severe eczema.

The first day was definitely the hardest, with headaches and tiredness. Yesterday was a little better, though there was a clear lack of energy. Today my husband has absolutely no energy. He feels like he could sleep the entire day. To add to that, the thought of any veggies makes him feel nauseous and it’s all he can do to hold things down. The one thing he does want is fruit (and avocados), though not apples as much anymore because I use them in the juices to sweeten them up.

He really doesn’t have weight to lose, so if the lack of energy is due to his body using up his fat stores, is there another way to do this? Should we add in some protein powder or something? I just want to know if other people feel this way and if we are doing it correctly. Thanks!

Its very normal to feel very tired the first few days. If you stick with it that will wear off rather quickley and you will find that you have more energy then ever. The healty drinks really supercharge your health and the benefits are amazing.

When I did my first juice fast I felt like I had the flu the first two days. Headaches, body aches, extreme fatigue and more. On day 3, I felt amazing, though. The length of these symptoms is different with every person who tries it. It shouldn’t last for more than a few days, though. If you do want more protein in your diet, Kale has quite a bit. It’s great with celery, tomatoes, carrots, cucumber, & parsley. Hang in there…it really does get easier and you will feel amazing before long.
