Hi, NHopeful,
Haha! OG/HB. Good one.
Yes, you can safely store your juice in a sealed container. Mason jars are perfect. I am using large, glass, Ball jars with the metal clasp-hinged lids and silicone seals for my juices & green smoothies. They work like a charm. I make a large batch or two of juices for the day, store the juice in the jars, and pull them from my refrigerator as needed. What I have found is that my juice stays fresh-tasting overnight and up to a few days. This is also true of my green smoohies. It is also very convenient.
I would recommend making fresh batches every day or every other day at the least. Part of making your reboot successful is building new habits and keeping to a regular schedule will help you succeed. Also: prepare & drink a variety of juices so that your body will get the variety of nutrients it needs. As the saying goes, “Drink a rainbow every day!”
Yummy! Try this: Baby spinach, cilantro, & ice cold pineapple. Mm m!You must be logged in to reply to this topic. -

I store my juice in quart jars and vacuum the oxygen out with a Food Saver jar attachment. Oxygen is what destroys the nutrients in the juice.
Just be sure not to full them to full or you will suck the juice into the Food Saver and ruin it.
I leave about 2″ space. You must be logged in to reply to this topic. -

I know it’s very time consuming, but fresh is best. It’s better if you juice and drink immediately… even Joe Cross says that.

There are practical reasons for many who still must live there lives without traveling around with a juicer, power inverter and bushel of veggies and fruit. Remember, Joe is a rich guy who made a movie of his journey so hauling around the gear was a central focus. (How did he clean up his juicer after making his juice in the back of an SUV?).
Make your juice the night before and store in a tight container. That’s what I do. You may lose some nutrients but compared to your “pre-juicing diet” you are probably still way ahead.
Consider this just one man’s opinion. I am certain there are more perspectives.

Joe had a RV following him while filming is one of the ways he cleaned up. Or rather his crew cleaned up. If you watch some of his videos on YouTube he explains this.

Nancy,
My question was rhetorical. Joe had a movie crew support staff to clean up the juicer after he made his drink.

Joe also didn’t have a full time job. When you have to be away from your house for 9-10 hours a day at a job, you can’t exactly make fresh juice.

I’m using quart glass jars as well
I read somewhere, and at this point I don’t have a clue where, that after 24 hours you have lost about 95% of the live enzymes you are juicing for so don’t store them more then that. Pesonally, I work a 12 shift M-F so I have to juice my first 2 meals of the day and my snacks before I head out in the morning. The current plan is to do my ‘dinner’ juice after I get home. Depending on how it goes i might have to juice that in the mornings too. Today is Day 1 for me so will see how it goes

I am purchasing vacuumed sealed thermoses and putting them – thermos only – in the freezer. I’ll make the juice the night before and fill up my frozen thermoses so they will last throughout the day. No light, no heat.
I found a 16 oz stainless steel thermos that has a little pop up thingy on the lid so that you sip it without actually opening it.

Mayo Clinic warns about the processed juice we make having NO preservatives so be careful in handling and storing in sealed containers that are kept refrigerated so it doesn’t grow bacteria. I keep my juices in sealed container is the coldest part of the refrigerator. Even if it is just for you don’t drink directly out of the storage container.

I’ve tried all sorts of different containers for bringing my juice to work. Right now I’ve been using these Aquasana glasses. They come in sets of 6 in 16 oz and 27 oz glasses. I’ve been using these for both juice and bringing my own filtered water to work as not to keep buying bottled water. You can find them on their website or on amazon. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003XPISEO/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00
You can meditate and do yoga until you are blue in the face, and all you will ever be is blue in the face unless you have the courage to open your heart, face reality, admit mistakes, and take right action. It hurts a bit, but this is what it means to have a personal revolution. -Baron BaptisteYou must be logged in to reply to this topic. -

I forgot to mention that it also depends on the kind of juicer that you use. The centrifugal juicers like the breville have a high powered motor and you’d think that would be the best but the heat also oxidizes the juice quicker which is another reason that you want to drink these juices quickly. The masticating styles like the champion and Omega 8000 series are said that the juice can last for up to 72 hours. Also, the masticating style should get more juice out of the fruits and veggies-especially greens. Of course, no matter what type of juicer you have, drinking the juice immediately is always best.
