I’m 29…274lbs…hypothyroid… and miserable. I am also frightened that my addiction to food has taken over my life. Any support would be great, as I’m sure I’m gonna need it!

    Hi Amy,

My girlfriend and I are also starting a juice fast today. We are planning a 10-day fast to try it out and incorporate more healthy fruits and veggies into our lifestyles.

It’s going to be okay! We would love to share this experience with you and wish you the best. :) Please let us know how it’s going for you and we’ll provide you with all the courage we can to keep going.

    Amy & Ikhlas,
I’m starting today too and shooting for a 60-day fast (if my doc says it’s OK). I am also hypothyroid and have other heal issues (inflammatory arthritis & high blood pressure) that I hope this juice fast helps with. I also need to lose a LOT of weight.

Let’s keep this thread going to support each other. I’m about to head into the kitchen to make my juice for the day. Already had my water & lemon (had to add an herbal tea to it because I just couldn’t choke it down).

Hi everybody, I am Vivian from Texas. I am turning 40 next month. I am starting today too. Had my juicy breakfast and now starving to death. About to juice again to easemy hunger. Headache is killing me, but what I see on other post, it will go away. The first 3 days I guess is the biggest hump that we need to overcome. Good luck to us! we can do this!

Hi there I’m starting up today ….I’m 5’7″ and 258 time to get healthy! Would love to find a good support group on here as I’m sure this will be hard considering I have 4 kids and a fiance ( who is very supporting by the way ) but they all will be eating regular food ….I’m unable to do much exercise because I have just recently had surgery on my foot for a shattered heel with screws and plate and just learning to walk again after. 4 months of no weight bearing…and then last week I broke my toe on my good food …..anyway I’m ready for this had my breakfast juice and LOVED it even kids loved it ….e

Hi everyone. I started today also, and I’m going for the 30 day, which ends the day before my 46th birthday. I have a 22 month old, and am trying to lose the baby weight and get healthier so I can keep up with him. Lailanai, like you I will be cooking for the rest of my family while doing this. Let me know if you have any tips and I will do the same!

Hi, my name is Brea and I plan to start Tuesday, July 10th (my juicer doesn’t arrive until Monday). I was hoping it would have made it Friday so I could start but the holiday effected that. At any rate I am 39, going to be 40 in 2 months and since the birth of my daughter (18 years ago) I have been trying to lose the 20pounds needed after her birth. Needless to say that 20 pounds is now 100 pounds! I am facing type 2 diabetes, been insulin resistant, and all the other health issues with being overweight. I feel to young in my soul to have ailments, so saw the movie and this is my final attempt to lose weight but most importantly get off the diet yo yo and get healthy. I hope I can do it! I am going to start with the 10 day fast then see about another 10 and so forth…This weekend we have been “blending” which the texture is hard to take, so I cannot wait for my juicer! But over the course of 2 days blending, down 3 pounds :) Good luck to all!

I am in. I am 43 1/2 years old and my 16 year old son and I are going to do this! My hubby going to try but we will support him anyway possible to get him to perform even some of this program into his life. I also have two young son’s ages 5 & 9. I am not putting them on this but will give them the juice as part of meals, although last night we tested out the juicer and they thought it was yucky tasting and wanted a fruit smoothie like at the mall they said. I am going to try to take this to 60 days, but I also know that this is new, and if I have a moment of weakness and have a bad day, forgive yourself, and get back on the program. Just knowing I have permission as its my life to do what I want seems to help me know I am not restricting myself, I am making a choice and a conscietous decision. I think mentally this helps me with the reboot and to start this new journey.

Good luck everyone! Blessings and positive energy to your success!

This is awesome!!!!!! I’ve started today too! I’m only doing ten days. After that I’ll adopt a long term juicing for two meals and eating for my 3rd meal. So far I had a green drink in the AM, a fruit drink for lunch and going to have a green drink for dinner. I had a bad headache a little earlier today and RIGHT now all I want to do is eat something! So I came here for some inspiration. Thanks guys!!

tonja did you juice everything this morning and take it to work with you? i’m trying to figure out the best way to streamline this process so that i’m not cleaning my juicer 3x/day! I don’t have enough time during my work lunch break to do this.

    Hey everyone,

I’m Russ from London and finishing day 2 now (Sunday night).

All day, and yesterday I was flying, no real hunger pangs, no headache and pretty much just coasting. The only issue I had was kept forgetting I was doing this, and wondering what I would eat that night. Also, just kept thinking of all the nice foods I will go back to when I’ve ended this fast, and that’s not helping!!

My gf says my breath smells of cabbage which also isn’t good!!

But right now I’ve just had my first [cough]toilet session….Two in 30mins, and I have a headache just starting to come on. I know the first 3 or 4 days are the worst, but I’m really not looking forward to work tmrw.

Glad to see the support of others on here too. Lets all keep it up.

I’m aiming for a minimum of 10 days and maybe as far as 30 after seeing the results of the first 10 days.

I’m not crazy overweight, but have a bit of a belly, and am looking to lose maybe 20lbs. I am currently about 180lbs.

    Good luck everyone!!

I just started my long weekend fast today too! I’ve never done this before. I noticed that a number of these recipes had just a few ingrediets. I don’t want to have to make a juice more than once per day so I just threw in everything under the sun. Am hoping that there isnt a drawback to this. Today I used: kale, brocoli, bok choy, ginger, spinach, beets, carrots, lemon and lime. What are you trying and what has your experience been so far? I’m fighting hunger, but am about to drink another glass. Also, do you know how much we’re supposed to have each day? 64oz or more?
    Thanks!!

64 oz is what I’ve read everywhere, plus the same again of water to stay hydrated.

I’ve been having 3 a day, so am prob a bit short of the 64oz but I haven’t really felt hungry yet.

I was feeling a bit down about it all a minute ago so just made myself quite a heavy fruit based one to cheer me up.

Two spring onions, asparagus, spinach, 2 carrots, half red pepper, 1 orange, 1 apple, half mango.

The onions are quite strong and almost over power it, but there’s enough fruit in there to just give me the sweet after taste I’m craving.

Roll on day 3 tmrw and the first day of work!!!

p.s. I am using a manual juicer and have one at work. It just took me about 35mins to make that last juice including cleaning up. That’s not too bad, and I’m being really careful with it all at the mo, so maybe in a few days I can get it down to 20-25 mins

HI! Today is my first day!!! I was very inspired by the movie because of the weight loss and the health benefits. I am 42 and weigh 177.4. As I have gotten older my willpower has gotten less. I used to maintain within 10 lbs very well in my 20s…the gap grew larger in my 30s…and now…well I need to lose about 40 lbs. I was hypothyroid and my thyroid was removed in 2006. SO today I begin. I did allow myself a cup of 1/2 caff, black. I am starting with 10 days and hope to continue after that!!! Good luck and willpower to all of us!!!
