A Smoothie to Help You Kick the Candy to the Curb

Easter is right around the corner and images of pastel colored eggs, chocolates or sugary treats are front and center!  This year try a pastel colored yummy, nutritious smoothie as a great energizing snack or light meal.   This smoothie tastes a bit sweet but because of all of the fiber-full fruits and veggies it can actually help to curb sweet cravings.
The avocado and banana add a creamy texture and plenty of potassium to support your workouts.  Avocado and mint also boast healthy fats good for your skin.  Cucumber is rich in phytonutrients that can also promote glowing skin and pineapple is wonderful as an anti-inflammatory food. Enjoy this smoothie and ditch the Easter candy!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 banana
  • 1/2 cucumber
  • 1 tsp fresh lime juice
  • 2 sprigs of mint (just leaves)
  • pinch of Himalayan sea salt
  • 1/4 pineapple
  • 1.5 cups (375 ml) almond milk
  • 1/2 avocado

Directions

1.Wash cucumber, mint and pineapple.

2.Remove rind from pineapple.

3.Add all ingredients to blender, and blend on high for 45 – 60 seconds until smooth.
