mmmm… I’m having it right now:) yam
May have to adjust my supper plans & try this out instead. If I don’t have it for supper, I’ll just have to drink it for breakfast tomorrow!
Had all the ingredients and it was time to eat. I added a meyer’s lemon and ginger. It was yummy and very filling. I have been trying to get my “rainbow” and was missing orange for this day! I feel good!!
I have been juicing on and off for some time(a little over 3 weeks) but i kept falling off the wagon. I need some encouragement! Anyone? I am a person with little will power. However, For a sweet breakfast in a cup I juice the following in order: 1 medium beet, 1 medium carrot, 1/2 inch ginger and one medium golden delious or fugi apple. No need for the ginger but it takes away that earthy taste from the beet. This taste so good when it is chilled.
Sherry, it is okay to fall off the wagon as long as u get back on it after fallen. It is a life style change and it takes time. I normally do a whole pink grapefruit, 2 oranges, piece of pineapple, 2 carrots & a piece of beet root for breakfast it is delish. I always do a green/red juice for lunch tho….i do my other piece of beet, 6 kale leaves, 1cucumber, 3 celery sticks, lemon, 2 apples & 2 carrots. Luv it. Always mix & match to find sumthin u really like & stick to it for a while. Honey i have been juicing for 2 years & i am dragging the wagon, so just keep on going until u r strong enough to a detox. Also, do it with one of ur friends or family members to get that extra motivation. U can do it!!!!
Thanks Buttah for the encouragement!
Buttah, what exactly is a detox, for that matter a ‘reboot’? I tried juicing a year ago. I recall I had tremendous energy and enthusiasm…but tired out of the regiment. I incorporated Juicing to my diet, maybe twice a day. Is Detoxing actually juicing for ‘straight’ for a period of time?
Nuncio123, yes that is exactly what it is. Strictly juice and nothing else besides a ton of good ole H2O.
I heard something today in the documentary Hungry for Change. The topic was dieting. Instead of saying “I want it but I can’t have it”, say “I can have it but I don’t want it”. It’s not our will power, or lack there of, that makes us “fail”, most of the time its the way we are thinking. By doing this one simple thing, change the way we think, we can change our behavior.
I’ve been juicing on and off now for a month. I’m seeing some comments about the order in which things are put into the juicer. Does that matter? If so, what’s an easy way to remember what goes in first?
No, the order doesn’t matter but i find the apple helps to cleanse the machine if u want to do other fruits at the same juicing time.
I’ve done something similar to this. I basically make my Mean Green, but instead of carrots, I add an orange. Plus, I swap out one granny smith for a fuji apple. It makes the juice sweeter! In addition, for an awesome smoothie, I will pour some Mean Green in a blender, add a banana, add a half cup each of almond milk and coconut milk, two tablespoons of Jif Natural Peanut Butter, a tablespoon of hemp seeds, and roughly seven ice cubes. Blend for about a minute on high with a standard cheap blender. Soooooooooooooo good!
I’ve just made this and really pleased with result. I normally struggle with kale without adding tons of lime but then I get indigestion but this recipe is fab and no acid!!!! Many thanks
I too strugge with the tast of kale, I find if you pull the leaf off the stem its not so bitter.
Had this for lunch. Delicious! Sweet, but not overly so
How long will juice last if you make it in larger quantities?
Thanks DEE! Just made this! Was DELISH! A bit salty from the celery and sweet from the apple/carrot. Really satisfying for the munchie cravings !
P.S “Buttah” hang in there… YOU CAN DO IT!
Jaimeson, ummmmm did u mean Sherry? Lol, but then again i need the encouragment too!
This is such hard work. I can use any type of motivation at this point. On a week off for two, on for three, off for one. Just a roller coaster of juicing. The best thing about it is once u start u cant stop because ur taste buds and body craves it constantly. Thanks
Look good
I tried to give this 5 stars as it was YUM! especially for my first juice of a cleanse
I LOVE juicing, I have no trouble drinking any of the veggies. I did a juice fast for a week, lost like crazy, but it got so expensive I had to cut back to once a day. This is really discouraging.
I use the Breville and get very little juice from Kale and no juice from Spinach. Am I doing something wrong?
try wetting the leaves really good before juicing them or add just a little bit of water to your juicer…thats how i get the juice from my spinach..
I have a question: I live presently in North Africa and don t seem to find Kale, I have intention to plant some in the garden but in the meantime do you have a suggestion for replacement until the kale comes to maturity eta 55 days. Specially I m starting my reboot?
Thanks for any comment
Johanne, if u have spinach that would be a good alternaltive. I also have found that turnip greens grow very well with kale. I get them every week out of a free community garden here in the states. Super fresh and dont have that store bought bitterness. So yeah besides spinach, i think any leafy green would do. I just dont think lettuce would be great, but this is just my opinion. Lettuce is a great sedative but dont have the same nutritious value as darker greens.
Do you have the nutritional facts to the particular juice here… I would like to add it to MyFitnessPal.
Thanks!
KingKoopa
I am also on Myfitnesspal and I just add each ingred. to my meal OR you could put each of these recipes into RECIPES on Myfitness pal then they would always be there for your next use.
I am also using a Blendtec instead of a juicer.
I just made this juice, and it is more brown than green. I used the exact ingredients, except I used Red Delicious apples in place of fuji. Anyone know why that is?
I’m on juicing and eating veg fruit diet now. I was wondering if its ok to have nuts or fermented vegetables.
Why no caffeine? Carolee
I got to try this for my very first juice recipe. That kale had been hanging around until I got a juicer. It is going down nicely for my late lunch.
i will be trying this in the morning sounds sooo yummy
I made this juice this morning, but I also added strawberries for added sweetness.
Just made this and added two kiwi … so yummy!
May I us Mio water flavor in my water while juicing?
Centrifugal Vs Cold Press
No criticism to Breville– I have a cold press juicer and love it. I used to have a centrifugal juicer and found it was really “violent” with the produce. Slow juicing is supposed to be more beneficial as far as preserving the nutrients in the fruit and veg. Anyone else agree with this?
What if you are allergic to some of the fruits? Are there substitutes?
Good recipe when you have only misc veggies left in the fridge…
