Chris H. Completes 60 Day Reboot on $40 Per Week

Name:  Christopher H.
Age:  34
Location:  Richmond, VA
Reboot:  60-Day Juicing and Eating Reboot
Health Improvements: I started January 1, 2012 and I was 313 lbs. Today I am 222 lbs and still hope to get to 190-200 by February 2013.  My cholesterol improved so much that my life insurance agency lowered my premium without asking.  I have a ton of energy and I rarely run out of breath.

How did you learn about Reboot Your Life?
My sister introduced me to the ‘Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead’ movie around Thanksgiving of 2011.

What inspired you to do a Reboot?
First, my family. I had a son that was going to be born in March, I already had a daughter and I wanted to be around when they got older.  Secondly, my sister and fiancé introduced me to Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead and I thought I could do that. Thirdly, my brother’s best friend passed away from being too overweight.  I knew I had to do something to get my weight and food in check.  I also thought about what my life would be like at 70 years old…and I thought I don’t know of anyone in their 70s overweight.  I realized that at the rate I was going I’d probably not live long enough to enjoy life with my family and friends.

How did the experience go for you?
The Reboot is the easiest thing I’ve ever done. I wish I had done it sooner. The results have been spectacular. Life is so much better and brighter. I never felt sick like in the movie, but my life was a general malaise from day to day, and I was jolly but not healthy.  My regiment went like this; Juice in the morning, then a salad for lunch at work with everything that would be in a juice, then a greener juice for dinner. Instead of an accountability partner I used facebook to post my progress.  Everyone knew my trials and the encouragement I had from my friends was amazing.  I put this fast on a budget of 40 dollars a week. I used things that I could use in salads and that my family would eat.

I donated all my clothes so I had no crutch to fall back on. I went from a 3xl to a L (so far) and from a size 48 pants to a 36. I have also enjoyed inspiring others. I know of at least 10 people that have or are trying to do something similar to what I have done.

Did you have any notable health or physical improvements?
My back doesn’t hurt as much at night.  I started to jog/walk 30 minutes a night at day 45. I’m physically smaller and I look a lot better. I started just walking to the corner of my street like the guy in the movie and last week I RAN an 8k.

What was the toughest part about the Reboot experience?
The hardest part was fighting my own mind and fighting off skeptical family and people that just don’t get what you are doing.  Language is huge in this endeavor. I would say things like I could NEVER… Eat a salad every day, not eat meat, what bull! Of course you can!  Family would say things such as “you can treat yourself just this one time can’t you?”. A lot of people have opinions on what you are doing however those are just things to get you off track, and I didn’t want those distractions.

What habits have you maintained and kept a part of your everyday life?
I replace at least one meal a week with a juice. I eat a salad for lunch pretty much every day and I will keep doing that until I hit my target weight/size which I hope to get to by February of 2013.  I jog every other day now instead of every night, but I jog for longer periods.  I want to add in weight lifting soon.

What is your lasting impression of the Reboot experience?
This is the kickstart to a new life. During the Reboot I learned the basics of nutrition. I’m never going back to the way I was before. I was so “full of it” thinking that what I was eating would lead to better life but  NOTHING beats my life right now.
