Chiropractor Finds Weight Loss Success in a Reboot & Encourages Patients to Do the Same

Name:  Dr. Jay Korsen
Age:  47
Location:  Rhode Island
Reboot: 20 Day Reboot
Health Improvements: I am 5’6” tall.  I went from weighing 213 lbs. to 180 lbs. and from a 38” waist to a 34” waist  (less than I was in high school).

How did you learn about Reboot with Joe?
I stumbled upon the Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead movie on my Netflix.  I saw it, could not believe it, watched it again and went to get my Breville juicer that weekend at Bed,Bath and Beyond.

What inspired you to do a Reboot?
I was a badly overweight healthcare provider (chiropractor) so I was not a very good role model for my patients.  I was having trouble breathing and snoring loudly.  I thought that a Reboot could help me with these problems.

How did the experience go for you?
This was the solution that fit my weight problem perfectly.  I have never felt “full” before.  The fruit juice in the morning not only filled me up but satisfied me.  It was like I overate my whole life because I never fed myself any nutrients before.  Once my body got all these healthy fruits and veggies in the juice, I felt full.  I didn’t need to eat any more because my body got what it needed and didn’t need to ask for more food.  I was amazed when after the first week, nearly a pound a day fell off without any special effort or dieting or deprivation of any kind.

Did you have any notable health or physical improvements?
My body weight dropped 33 lbs before my weight leveled off by itself.  I was able to breathe easily and I began walking without labored breathing.  I still snore but I sleep much deeper now.

What was the toughest part about the Reboot experience?
I think that the toughest part of the Reboot was dealing with comments from good-meaning friends and relatives that thought that I was going to kill myself without all the “protein” they thought I needed.  The Reboot naturally makes you crave these plant-based foods and as a result, I am nearly vegetarian for the last year and a half.

What habits have you maintained and kept a part of your everyday life?
So, as I mentioned, I still juice every day.  Except for the rare occasion that I take my wife to breakfast, I have a fresh juice smoothie consisting of 2 cups of water, a banana, and an apple or mango and organic fresh berries with a scoop of spiruteen.  For lunch, I have a fresh veggie juice.  My favorite juice is a small piece of ginger, lots of carrots, a cucumber, sweet red bell pepper and sometimes I add in a beet or a couple pieces of kale or cilantro.  I often make enough juice for a few days and store it in a big pitcher.  I like to make a Kale salad at dinner consisting of about 6 or 7 big leaves, some olive oil, balsamic vinegar, toasted sesame oil (a drop), lemon, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds and a little kosher salt to flavor with a fresh tomato when I have one.  This fills me up most of the way and then I can have a very small portion of whatever my wife made for dinner without overeating on the wrong foods.  The bottom line is make juicing a part of your everyday life for breakfast (at least) and for lunch.

What is your lasting impression of the Reboot experience?
I recommend the Reboot and the movie to all my patients.  This is not just another diet.  When this lifestyle of juicing is combined with proper exercise, a positive mindset and staying well-adjusted by seeing your chiropractor once a week to prevent interference to your nerve system, it provides TRUE HEALTH!  I get a kick out of when people ask who should see a chiropractor.  I tell them that anyone who has a spine should be checked for vertebral subluxations by a chiropractor.  It is the same way with juicing.  Who should be juicing?  Anyone who wants to keep their body healthy and has at least half a brain!
