Ring the Bell Peppers Juice

‘Tis the seasons for peppers – red, green, long, skinny, fat, short – you name it, they’re here. Peppers come in different shapes and sizes and offer different nutrients depending on their color.
A pleasantly sweet taste, this juice is delicious with a zesty and refreshing flavor thanks to the combination of the peppers and the pear. And it has a nice kick thanks to the ginger and lime! The ginger and lime both contain digestive and immune properties, the pear contains the anti-cancer nutrient, quercitin, and the broccoli, a cruciferous vegetable, is loaded with nutrients and fiber that can help to promote healthy digestion.

Why is this juice memorable? The peppers of course!

Green bell peppers have a simpler taste compared with sweeter red, yellow, or orange varieties, and contain vitamins C, B6 and K. Vitamin C is a key immune booster and plays a role in collagen formation, which means it also helps promote healthy skin. Vitamin B6 also aids with immune function and helps to promote healthy blood sugar and is involved in the process of making hemoglobin, the iron-carrying compound in the blood. Lastly, vitamin K is involved with the body’s natural clotting process.

Red bell peppers are a source of vitamins C and A that play a role in immune function and act as antioxidants in the body. Red bell peppers are also a source of the antioxidant, lycopene that has been shown to be potentially beneficial in combating prostate cancer. Lastly, research suggests that the compound, lutein, also found in red bell peppers may be protective against macular degeneration.
