QUESTIONS
How did you learn about Reboot Your Life?
I had lunch with my best friend’s father soon after he had completed his Reboot. I discovered that he had lost 60 pounds by juicing after he watched “Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead”. I immediately began to research juice fasting and learned how juicing could help my body heal as well as lose weight.
What inspired you to do a Reboot?
My most recent effort to lose weight began back in May 2012. I had reached a desperate point in my journey to find a way to lose weight. I had tried Weight Watchers, NutriSystem, low-carb, and protein shake fasts in the past. I always regained the weight plus some. My self-esteem was never impacted. I marched through life feeling strong and powerful and beautiful. I always said if I had poor self-esteem I may have tried harder to lose weight in the past! After regaining weight and hitting my highest weight AGAIN, I signed up for the lap band surgery. I was only briefed by a nurse practitioner. I was in and out and approved for the procedure before I knew it. This lack of communication forced me to realize that this really felt like the easy way out for me and may end up being too risky to go through with it. I began calorie counting and working out and slowly began to come down from my highest weight. That’s when I discovered the Reboot and felt like I flipped the switch on my health.
How did the experience go for you?
The adjustment of focusing my attention away from food was difficult in the beginning. The detox symptoms emerged on day 3 and I experienced headaches, nausea, and overall crankiness. After the first week the hunger diminished and my energy was through the roof! I was so energetic that my co-workers began to ask when I would return to food! It was incredible; my energy level didn’t dip after meals like it had when I was eating regularly. I found that I felt more portable when I was on the road for work. I just packed a cooler, drank my juice, and kept moving. I found that as I began to lose weight and those around me could see how great I was feeling, they became interested in trying the Reboot for themselves.
Did you have any notable health or physical improvements?
Over the 60 day Reboot I lost 32 pounds. With the support of juicing I am now down 50 pounds from my highest weight. It completely changed my palate and removed my junk food cravings. My Asthma and Eczema improved. My overall daily health increased with less headaches and fewer allergy symptoms.
What was the toughest part about the Reboot experience?
The toughest part of the Reboot was adjusting to the impact on my social life. In our society almost every social interaction is focused on food or drink. My birthday passed while on the Reboot and I found it difficult to “celebrate”. We need to learn to celebrate by enjoying each other’s company, sharing gifts, expressing love, and not define a special occasion by the food we eat.
What habits have you maintained and kept a part of your everyday life?
I am a juicing convert now! I juice weekly and try to get in at least 8 ounces of green a juice per day. My diet is mostly plant based with lean meats weekly at most. I focus on unprocessed and whole foods that my body can convert to fuel quickly. And just today I kicked off another 21 day Reboot to finish before the holidays.
What is your lasting impression of the Reboot experience?
The Reboot is the key to changing my health that I have been searching for. It has transformed my impression of what I am capable of accomplishing. Before, when dieting, I felt like it was too hard or restrictive; now I feel empowered that I have the strength to change my body and my life. The Reboot helped me regain control.

I’m so inspired!!! When reading your story, I thought I was reading my own story, including the weight watchers part, the counting calories and now still being at my heaviest weight ever, 194…. Even the part where your asthma and eczema improved, because I have both of those as well! Thank you so much for sharing this. What kind of juice recipes did you use??

So excellent! Good to hear. Your right though, the restiveness I found turning away from junk food was stronger than I thought. I think I spent about 2 weeks (of 3 so far) obsessing about missing the other food. Even depressive bouts with it. I think I am mostly over that phase now, but I am now truly looking forward to the completing the full 60 days.

FIRST 10 DAYS COMPLETE AND I’VE LOST 5 LBS, BUT I AM STILL HUNGRY REALLY HUNGRY. HOW MUCH JUICE SHOULD I DRINK PER DAY?
Wow that’s some awesome results and dedication! Please advise where can I find the 60 day plan or is it just an extension of the 10-15 day plan? Also I thought the 60 day plan is juice only and no solid food? Thanks in advance.

Thank you for sharing this with us. I did 10 days of juicing with out breaking and then went out for our end of year team lunch where I had meat and salad and since then (4 days) I have struggled to get my mind back into just juicing.
You have inspired me to keep going again as I want to keep losing weight and get more fit and healthy.
I have joined the local PCYC where it has a pool and the gym. Before starting the juicing I was only able to swim four laps. On Sunday I swam 20!

Congratulations!!! Fantastic!!! I bought my juicer 5 days ago, and have juiced everyday, only eating a small meal for dinner… (I am keen to do a total reboot, I love how I feel after only a few days)… I noticed you wrote you juice once a week…. how do you store your juice to keep the nutritional value? …BTW, I have got my hubby to try each of my juices, and he actually likes them (he doesn’t eat fruit and very little vegies), and he had a whole glass yesterday…. I’m hoping to get him to have one everyday…
