How to Overcome the Fear of Starting a Reboot

It’s a snowy and chilly week here in New York City! I’m here for the launch of my new book Reboot with Joe: Fully Charged. For this week’s series, I kept it to one — it’s an important one that I receive often from many who are thinking about starting a Reboot. Watch my video or read the transcribed answers below!  If you’ve missed the previous Ask Joe Anything series, you can check out the questions I’ve already tackled in the past six weeks.

How do you overcome the fear of starting a Reboot? I’ve heard the first week can be pretty tough.

Now some people are pretty good at diving into things and just go all in and they don’t worry about that kinda thing. You all know that I’m scared of heights, so I can’t walk up near the edge of tall buildings, but some people can.

So first of all, you have to identify yourself, if you are scared about starting a Reboot the best thing to do in my opinion would be to slowly bring in juicing. So you might start with breakfast, for 4 or 5 days breakfast is juice, and then you might bring it to juice for breakfast and lunch for 4 or 5 days and then slowly but surely you bring it into the dinner with a very small meal, and you ease yourself in to the Rebooting process. And also I’d count those days as part of you making a positive healthy lifestyle change.

A lot of people think about Reboots as just about losing weight, but I really think if you go into all about weight loss then you aren’t going to really succeed. To me, it’s all about being as healthy as you possibly can and about getting the micronutrients into the body. You are doing two positive things: getting lots of juice that is coming in in terms of nutrients, and you aren’t putting in the other stuff like processed foods and animal products that are hard to digest. Once you are finished your Reboot you can decide what you want to bring back to the table.

Good luck and remember, it does get easier!
