Today is National Ice Cream Day, so of course we are celebrating. And you can too without paying a visit to your local ice cream shop. You can have your own ice cream celebration right in your kitchen with our favorite dairy-free ice creams. If you find yourself craving a big bowl of ice cream today  these healthier options can help satisfy a sweet tooth while still keeping you on the right track.

Here are my favorite (and simple) frozen treat recipes, none of which require an ice cream maker. Not only are you enjoying a light treat, but you’re getting phytonutrients from fruit, protein from nut butters and antioxidants from superfood toppings like cacao nibs and goji berries.
