7 Healthy Chocolate Treats for the Chocolate Lover

Hallelujah! Today is National Chocolate Day. While the sound of that get’s me excited, I can’t really say I need an excuse to celebrate chocolate since…well, since I eat a little chocolate every day! However, since it’s an official day on the foodie calendar, then it calls for a real celebration. A celebration of delicious, yet healthy, mood-boosting chocolate treats.

When I was doing my research to confirm that today is in fact THE National Chocolate Day, I discovered that there are actually 30 different occasions for us to celebrate chocolate throughout the year. Maybe that’s the reason there’s a shortage of cocoa? When I was watching The Today Show this morning before work, they discussed that there’s only 400,000 small farmers that produce cocoa, and they just cannot keep up with the demand. (I imagine I play a big role in that high demand.) That means prices of candy bars are rising which is not good news for those giving out chocolate this week for Halloween.

Fortunately, I have a HUGE stash of cacao powder in my pantry so I won’t need to purchase any chocolate for quite a while. I have plenty to make my favorite no-bake, healthy recipes to celebrate National Chocolate Day.

Try one, or all, of the the following chocolate recipes and celebrate like a real chocolate lover.

And hey, if you’re on a Reboot or thinking about starting one, just save this post for later and remember to enjoy one of these when your Reboot ends. You’ll deserve a small reward at that point anyway. Just make a small batch, save one or two for yourself, and give the rest to your family and friends.  They love you now, but they will love you even more if you do that!
